Also known as sling psychrometers, these calculate relative humidity in the field based on continuous temperature measurements from a wet-bulb and a dry-bulb thermometer. They consist of two mercury-free fluid-filled thermometers, a wick, a glass water bulb, and a handle. These humidity meters have a built-in slide rule for calculating humidity without a calculation table.
