Low-Friction Cadmium-Plated Steel—The plating reduces friction between the washer, fastener, and mounting surface to prevent sticking when fastening and loosening. It also creates a barrier against rust that's comparable to zinc yellow-chromate plating.

Aluminum
|
One-third the weight of steel, these washers are commonly used in robotics, automation, and other applications that have weight limits. They're an alternative to stainless steel for rust resistance.
Corrosion-Resistant 1100 Aluminum—The best corrosion resistance of all the aluminum washers we offer. These are common in chemical and food processing industries since they stand up to salt water, mild acids, and detergents. However, they aren't as strong as 2024 aluminum.
High-Strength 2024 Aluminum—The strongest aluminum washers we offer, these are comparable in strength to steel.
SAE Washers
Originally designed for the automotive industry, these washers conform to SAE sizing standards. They generally have smaller diameters than USS washers to fit in cramped spots and are thinner to create more precise gaps. Washers distribute pressure under screws and nuts to protect your mounting surface.

USS Washers
These washers meet USS sizing specifications and typically have larger diameters than SAE washers. As a result, they accommodate larger screws and nuts and distribute pressure across a wider surface area. They are also thicker, so they withstand heavier loads and span wider gaps when used as spacers.
Stainless Steel

18-8 Stainless Steel—The choice for wet and outdoor environments, these washers resist rust. However, they won't hold up to the harsh chemicals that 316 stainless steel can.
Black-Oxide 18-8 Stainless Steel—Typically chosen for their appearance, these washers have a dark, matte coating to create a finished look. They resist rust in wet and outdoor environments, but won't hold up to harsh chemicals as well as 316 stainless steel.
Super-Corrosion-Resistant 316 Stainless Steel—Superior to 18-8 stainless steel, these washers won't degrade when exposed to harsh weather, salt water, and most chemicals.

Black Super-Corrosion-Resistant-Coated Steel—Combines a finished appearance with the rust resistance of 316 stainless steel. The coating has been tested to extreme standards, including 1,000 hours of salt spray resistance, to hold up in wet and outdoor environments. Also known as black luster.

18-8 Stainless Steel—18-8 stainless steel washers have good chemical resistance and may be mildly magnetic. These washers are the most corrosion-resistant option.
Black-Oxide Steel—Black-oxide steel washers are mildly corrosion resistant in dry environments.

Split Lock Washers

Stop nuts and screws from loosening due to mild vibration. As you tighten, the uneven ends bite into the nut or screw so it won't back out. While they're not as vibration resistant as other lock washers, they are a great fit for electrical panels, light fixtures, and other light duty assemblies. Split lock washers are not reusable, and they only work with fasteners that have right-hand threads.
