Originally designed for the automotive industry, these washers conform to SAE sizing standards. They generally have smaller diameters than USS washers to fit in cramped spots and are thinner to create more precise gaps. USS Washers
These washers meet USS sizing specifications and typically have larger diameters than SAE washers. As a result, they accommodate larger screws and nuts and distribute pressure across a wider surface area. They are also thicker, so they withstand heavier loads and span wider gaps when used as spacers.
