Twist-Resistant Anchors for Drywall, Plaster, and Wood Paneling
Fins prevent these anchors from spinning during installation. Also known as wall plugs, they expand to reinforce a hole and resist stripping. Install anchors flush with the surface. Then, thread a screw through your fixture and into the anchor. To determine screw length, add the anchor length to the fixture thickness and choose a screw equal to or longer than this.

Flanged Plastic Anchors for Block and Brick
A flange keeps the anchor from being pushed through a hole. Also known as alligator plugs, these anchors split in half when a screw is inserted to reinforce the hole and resist stripping. To install, drill a hole slightly deeper than the anchor is long and insert the anchor until it's flush with the surface. Next, thread a sheet metal or wood screw through your fixture and into the anchor. To determine screw length, add the anchor length to the fixture thickness and choose a screw longer than this. Length includes the flange. Pull-out strength values are 25% of the ultimate values.

Metal Anchors for Block and Brick
These anchors expand and distort when a screw is inserted to reinforce the hole and resist stripping. To install, drill a hole slightly deeper than the anchor is long and insert the anchor until it's flush with the surface. Then, thread a sheet metal or wood screw through your fixture and into the anchor. To determine screw length, add the anchor length to the fixture thickness and choose a screw longer than this. Pull-out strength values are 25% of the ultimate values.

Wood-Screw-Threaded Metal Anchors for Block and Brick
Also known as lag shields, these anchors are designed to be used with large-diameter wood screws. They reinforce the hole and resist stripping. Most diameters are available in two lengths. The shorter lengths reduce drilling time; the longer lengths provide more strength. To install, tap into a drilled hole with a hammer and position your fixture. Then, insert a lag screw and tighten. Install flush or slightly below the surface. Pull-out strength and shear strength values are 25% of the ultimate values.

Use these light duty anchors to hold 20 lbs. or less. Once installed, screws can be removed repeatedly without affecting the anchor. Install flush with the surface. Then, thread the screw through your fixture, into the anchor, and tighten. For high volume tasks, use an optional installation tool—it doesn't require any twisting.
