Flexible Metal Conduit for Fiber Optic Cable
Protect fiber optic cable with this small-diameter conduit. Made of 304 stainless steel, it’s flexible enough to weave through tight spaces but strong enough to resist over-bending, so it won’t disrupt signals. Rated IP68, it’s dust tight and protected from prolonged submersion.
Conduit with a silicone cover won’t absorb oil or chemicals, including the hazardous pulling lubricants commonly used in cable installation. Fiberglass braiding inside this conduit makes it stretch resistant, protecting cable while it’s being installed. The braiding limits conduit flexibility, giving it a wider bend radius than conduit with a PVC cover to provide cable with extra protection from over-bending. This conduit stays flexible at high temperatures, so it’s a common choice for guarding fiber optic cable near heat sources. It’s not as compression or impact resistant as conduit with a PVC cover.
