About Selecting Shock Absorbers
To select the best shock absorber for your application, you need to find the energy capacity your application requires. Use this formula to calculate the energy capacity required to stop a horizontal-moving load. For example, if you have a 250-lb. load moving at 25 inches per second, your calculation is (250 lbs. ÷ 772) × 252 = 202.4 in.-lbs. energy capacity.
Note: Choose a shock absorber with a higher energy capacity than you calculated. Factors such as driving force or an inclined surface will increase the energy capacity required.
Energy Capacity (in.-lbs.) = (Weight, lbs./772) × Velocity2 (in. per second)
Self-Adjusting Shock Absorbers

Accommodate changing loads and energy without manual adjustment. Shock absorbers counteract the energy of moving objects to prevent damage to equipment and material. They're often used in gantry systems, presses, and at stops along conveyors. Mounting nuts are included. Mounting Blocks for Shock Absorbers are sold separately.
Nylon and urethane rubber bumpers are nonmarring.
Aluminum bumpers are nonmagnetic.

Miniature Threaded-Body Air Cylinders
These cylinders thread directly into your equipment, taking minimal space.
Single-acting cylinders are push style—air extends the rod and cylinders have a spring that returns the rod to its original position.
Double-acting cylinders exert force in both directions.

Threaded-Body Hydraulic Cylinders
Small yet powerful, these cylinders thread into a system for workholding applications. Hydraulic pressure extends the piston rod and an internal spring retracts it. UN/UNF (SAE Straight) thread connections have straight threads and are also known as O-ring Boss fittings.
When using a mounting block, a mounting nut is required.

Pry-Resistant Keyed Alike Lock Cylinders for Mortise-Mount Locks

Designed to withstand vandalism better than other lock cylinders, these are for use in locks that are mortise mounted into a cutout in the door. Choose them if you need several lock cylinders that open with the same key. They are commonly used in deadbolt door locks and touch bars with alarms. Cylinders have either a standard cam or a cam specifically for Adams-Rite locks. All have a five-pin tumbler locking mechanism.

Threaded Air-Powered Hold-Down Fixture Clamps

Screw these clamps directly into a tapped hole and use air pressure to quickly and consistently clamp and release parts. The arm rotates 90° into position over the workpiece and then moves straight down to clamp. Disengage to rotate the arm out of the way and load or unload parts. Also known as swing clamps, they're used with a solid state switch or Reed function switch with M8 male 3-pin connectors. Connect the clamp's ports to a control valve and an air line. To hold clamps in an untapped hole, use a mounting block (sold separately).
Clamps with rubber-tipped holding screw are nonmarring. Tip is removable.
