Cutting their own pilot hole and threads as you fasten them into material, these metric screws have a drilling tip. They’re useful when you’re joining two metal components together but only have access to one side, such as when installing ductwork. These screws have a hex head, so you can quickly tighten them with a wrench or hex socket bit. Made of steel, they are strong and wear resistant, and have a zinc plating to protect the steel from rust in wet environments. They meet ISO 15480 (formerly DIN 7504 K), an international standard for tapping screw dimensions.
