E308L electrodes are for 201, 202, 301, 302, 304, 305, and 308 stainless steel. They create welds that work well at cryogenic temperatures.
E309L electrodes are for 309 stainless steel. They can also be used for other stainless steel where pre- and post-heat treatments aren’t possible, as well as for joining dissimilar metals.
E310 electrodes are for 310 stainless steel in wrought and cast form. They’re commonly used in heat shields, furnace parts, and ducting applications.
E312 electrodes are for 316L or 318 stainless steel. They are often used to weld wrought and cast alloys, and for joining dissimilar metal.
