About Sound Levels

To choose an alarm or speaker that’s loud enough, first determine the decibel (dB) rating of background noise.

The built-in motor-driven fan in these sirens generates a shrill tone that's audible over long distances. Sirens emit a continuous tone. They have a shock- and corrosion-resistant housing, so they're approved for use on U.S. Navy ships.
