Sink Drain Traps
Prevent sewer gas from entering your building.
P-traps attach to your wall drain pipe. Those with a reversible J-bend can be flipped, so they can connect to deep sinks or wall pipe that’s too high for standard P-traps.
S-traps attach to your floor drain pipe.
Polypropylene traps stand up to chemicals, so they’re often used for lab sinks.

Adjustable-Neck Sink Drain Traps
Connect sink drains that are offset from wall drain outlets.
EPDM rubber traps are flexible, so you can form them into a P-trap or S-trap. They’re soft enough to squeeze with your hands to manually remove clogs. Use scissors to trim these traps to length, then attach them to your drain and wall pipe with the included fittings.
Drain traps with a tee connector have a dishwasher drain connector. To attach a dishwasher drain hose, knock out the plug in the tee connector.
Single-inlet drain traps can attach to either a 1 1/2" or 1 1/4" tailpiece to fit your sink drain.

Chemical-Resistant Sink Drains with Collection Trap
Often used in lab sinks, these drains have a removable collection trap that catches sediment and objects. The trap also blocks vapors from returning up through the drain.
Polypropylene plastic drains resist dissolving if chemicals, such as acids, go down your drain.
Drains with a glass or polypropylene trap are clear or semi-clear, so you can monitor sediment and debris as it drops in. Drains with a glass trap include a standard-width mason jar that is easy to replace.
Straight adapters are often used when connecting your drain to Gravity-Flow Polypropylene Pipe Fittings for Corrosive Chemical Waste.
Use 90° elbow adapters when your drain pipe comes in from the floor instead of the wall.

Neutralization Tanks
For safe and legal disposal of corrosive chemicals, these tanks neutralize acid waste before it drains into sewer systems. Fill them with limestone chips (sold separately), which chemically react with waste to reduce its acidity. Often used in labs, these tanks rest on a solid surface below your sink. The inlet attaches to your sink drain where a P-trap would go, and the outlet threads into your drain pipe. These tanks are made of either polypropylene or polyethylene to withstand prolonged contact with harsh chemicals.
Choosing a tank size involves several factors, including how much waste you generate and the types of chemicals you plan to treat. For effective neutralization, waste should spend three hours in your tank before exiting via gravity flow. Select a tank that is greater in size than the volume of chemicals you plan to dispose of in a three-hour period.
Before use, fill your tank up to the outlet with limestone chips. One 50-lb. bag of chips will fill a five-gallon tank. Schedule regular maintenance to clean your tank and check the chip level—neutralization will erode chips over time. Disposing of non-chemical waste, such as coffee grounds, into these tanks will make the limestone chips less effective.
Style A tanks have an adjustable-height inlet with a slip joint fitting to connect to sink drains. Style B and C tanks have larger capacities to process greater amounts of waste.
