3M Scotch-Brite Nylon Mesh Cushioned Sanding Pads
The thick, abrasive-embedded nylon mesh construction flexes to compensate for uneven pressure as you sand, producing a consistent finish. These pads can be cut to size for use with portable sanders.
Aluminum oxide is the most common abrasive for general purpose sanding, such as material removal and finishing on metals and wood.
Nepheline syenite is an extremely mild abrasive material that’s good for gentle, yet thorough, cleaning on delicate surfaces such as plastic, glass, and porcelain. It is commonly used with liquid detergents.

All Purpose—Light cleaning. 7447 Pro pads have a higher concentration of abrasive grain than standard 7447 pads, allowing them to cut faster and produce a more consistent finish. 7447 Durable Flex pads are thinner and more flexible than standard 7447 pads. Their thin profile wraps around tight corners and squeezes into confined spaces, making them good for sanding contoured surfaces. 8447 pads are designed for scuffing and blending surfaces prior to painting them. They’re slightly coarser than standard 7447 pads for a higher cut rate on your workpiece

Pads for Aluminum, Soft Metals, and Nonmetals
The mesh in these sanding pads flexes to compensate for uneven pressure as you sand. It's embedded with silicon carbide, one of the sharpest abrasive materials. Silicon carbide cuts through soft metals and nonmetals like aluminum and rubber with ease, and it generates minimal heat to prevent material buildup. These pads can be cut to size for use with portable sanders.
7448 PRO pads have a higher concentration of abrasive grain than standard 7448 pads, allowing them to cut faster and produce a more consistent finish. 7448 Durable Flex pads are thinner and more flexible than standard 7448 pads. Their thin profile wraps around tight corners and squeezes into confined spaces, making them good for sanding contoured surfaces.

Nylon Mesh Cushioned Sanding Belts

When you need to achieve a more consistent finish, choose nylon mesh sanding belts over paper- or cloth-backed belts. The mesh flexes to compensate for uneven sanding pressure as you sand. It's embedded with aluminum oxide, the most common abrasive, which is hard enough to sand steel and wood. These belts resist deterioration when used with water or cutting fluids.
Coarse grade is for deburring and removing heavy rust and surface imperfections.
Medium grade is for light cleaning and blending.
Very fine grade is for removing fine scratch marks and lines, final finishing, polishing, and preparing surfaces for painting.

Nylon Mesh Cushioned Sanding Belts for
Aluminum, Soft Metals, and Nonmetals

Made of nylon mesh, these belts compensate for uneven sanding pressure to create a smooth, consistent finish on workpieces. Silicon carbide—one of the sharpest abrasives—is embedded in the mesh, so these belts sand quickly with light pressure. They stay cool while sanding, which keeps material from building up on the surface. These belts are very fine grade, so they’re best for removing light scratches, polishing, and preparing surfaces for painting.

Nylon Mesh Cushioned Sanding Belts for Stainless Steel and Hard Metals

When you need to achieve a more consistent finish, choose nylon mesh sanding belts over paper- or cloth-backed belts. The mesh flexes to compensate for uneven sanding pressure as you sand. It's embedded with ceramic alumina; its grit continually fractures to produce new, sharp cutting edges. It's sharp and dense enough to shape hard metals such as stainless steel, nickel, and cast iron without dulling quickly. It sands faster and lasts longer than aluminum oxide but requires more force to abrade properly.
Extra coarse grade is for deburring and removing heavy rust and surface imperfections. It is equivalent to 120 to 150 grit.
Coarse grade is for cleaning and blending. It is equivalent to 150 to 180 grit.
