Rigid-Arm Magnetic-Base Indicator Holders
Magnetic-Release Switch
and Fine-Adjustment Arm
Securely mount indicators to metal surfaces with the magnetic base on these holders. They have a switch that releases the magnet for easy setups.
Holders with a fine-adjustment arm have a knob on the arm that lets you precisely adjust the arm’s angle or move the indicator up and down.
Holders with two arms have an extra long reach. Bend them where the two arms meet to change the direction of your indicator. You can also remove an arm if you’re using these holders in a tight space.
Holders with a V-grooved base can be mounted on flat or curved metal surfaces.

Starrett Magnetic Bases
The threaded mounting holes on this base hold upright posts and fixtures. It has a flat bottom for mounting on flat metal surfaces and a V-step at the top of the base for mounting on round surfaces. The magnetic-release switch allows for easy setups.
Magnetic Bases for Uneven Surfaces
The pins on these bases adjust to grip a variety of contours, such as sharp, rounded, and uneven surfaces. Switch off the magnetic pins to easily move or set up these bases. Use the threaded mounting hole to hold upright posts and fixtures.
Low-Profile Magnetic-Base Indicator Holders with Multiple Mounting Locations
For more versatility than other low-profile holders, this holder has six locations for mounting indicators and accessories, including two mounting holes and four places to mount an indicator lug back with the included thumb screws. Vise-grip locking pliers clamp this holder to most thin, flat surfaces, and the flexible arm lets you position your indicator around obstructions. Lock the arm in place with a lever.
Economy Jointed-Arm Weighted-Base Indicator Holders
Stabilize and precisely position your indicator with these weighted bases. Attached to the base, these holders have a jointed arm for moving your indicator up and down and in and out. Tighten the knob on the arm to lock it in place and use the fine-adjustment clamp for angling your indicator just right. Made of granite, the base has an extremely tight flatness tolerance, so it creates an accurate reference point for inspection work. It also means you can easily slide your workpiece in and out.

Vacuum Bases
Create a stable base for your indicator on granite plates and other nonmagnetic surfaces. These bases have a threaded mounting hole to hold upright posts (sold separately) and fixtures.
Dial-Indicator Shaft Alignment Chain Clamp Kits
Find misalignment across adjacent shafts—these clamps position a dial indicator on each shaft to locate offset or angular misalignment in both the horizontal and vertical axes.
Continuous dials are numbered clockwise around the face for direct measurement. Balanced dials are more versatile than continuous dials because they help detect misalignment in both directions. They have a center zero with positive values on one side and negative values on the other.
Back plungers take up less space in your set up because their plunger sits flush against the shaft. They mount in multiple orientations to fit in a variety of set ups. Bottom plungers are oriented best to detect vertical misalignment. They’re also mountable and allow you to see the shaft and dial indicator at the same time, giving you accurate readings.
