These loosely knitted fiberglass seals are more flexible, compressible, and conformable than High-Temperature Rope Edge Seals. The looser construction also makes them more likely to absorb liquids. They resist bleach, solvents, and most acids (do not use with hydrofluoric acid, hot phosphoric acid, and wet hydrogen chloride).
High-Temperature Flange-Mount Rope Edge Seals
In addition to high temperatures, these seals have a fiberglass cover and core that resists most refrigerants, salts, and grease. They’re flexible and compressible, and are often used as caulking and for filling expansion joints. The flange on these seals slides into a slot that is commonly found on oven, furnace, and boiler doors; it can be positioned to cover large gaps.
