With wide gaps between each side plate, debris in dirty environments falls through this chain instead of building up. Originally designed for use in lumber mills and agricultural applications, its wide spacing and heat-treated steel material makes it a good choice for harsh environments. The flat edges create a level surface, so items riding on manufacturing and packaging lines won’t get caught in divots the way they do on standard roller chain. Use with sprockets for harsh environments.
Connecting links are also known as master links. They're used to join the ends of a chain length. The side plate is easy to remove for attaching to a chain. Adding links are also known as roller links. They require two connecting links to join to your chain. Adding-and-connecting links are also known as half links and offset links. A combination of connecting and adding links, they join chain that requires an odd number of links.
