About Cam Latches and Locks
More
Heavy Duty Roller Latches
These latches are spring-loaded to overcome resistance caused by gaskets and air pressure to close doors tightly. Mount them vertically at the top of walk-in freezer doors. The arm rolls into the strike plate as the door closes for a secure hold. A firm tug releases the roller and opens the door. Door offset is the space between the door face and the frame when the door is closed.

Soft-Close Heavy Duty Roller Latches
To prevent doors from slamming, these latches are hydraulic. Mount them vertically at the top of walk-in freezer doors. The arm rolls into the strike plate as the door closes for a secure hold. A firm tug releases the roller and opens the door. Door offset is the space between the door face and the frame when the door is closed.

Tight-Hold Keyed Cam Locks
Ideal for high-vibration environments, these locks create a tighter hold than standard cam locks. Also known as compression cam locks, a quarter turn secures the door, then another quarter turn creates light compression that reduces vibration. Instead of a traditional cam, these locks have a roller cam that minimizes friction, making doors easy to open and close. The cam rotates smoothly across the frame as you twist the handle, so it won't scrape paint or metal chips off that can damage sensitive electronics inside the enclosure.
A gasket and cylinder cover block water, dust, and dirt. This prevents internal damage to the lock itself and helps you maintain an enclosure's IP rating.
These locks are keyed differently, so they're good when you need locks that open with different keys. They mount in an irregular installation hole.

Triangle-Drive Cam Locks
Open these locks with a triangle key—it’s more secure than a hex key or screwdriver, yet still matches a common keying system for industrial enclosures and other machinery.
Locks with an adjustable latching distance handle a wide range of latching distances, so they’re best for tasks when precise distances are unknown. Adjust the position of the cam before installing. They project further into the enclosure than those with a fixed latching distance.
Locks with a roller or protected cam rotate more smoothly than those with straight and offset cams, making them easier to open and close. The cam won’t scratch or flake enclosure surfaces to protect electronics inside from paint or metal chips.
All have a gasket that keeps dust and water from getting in through the lock. This helps you maintain your sealed enclosure’s IP or NEMA rating. IP65 rated locks seal out water from low-pressure washdowns.

Tight-Hold Triangle-Drive Cam Locks
Also known as compression cam locks, these locks create a tighter hold than a traditional cam lock, making them useful for doors that have a seal. Turn the head a quarter turn to lock, then turn it another quarter turn to create compression and minimize rattling from vibration. All of these locks open with a triangle key, so they're more secure than locks that open with a hex or slotted driver yet still match a common keying system for industrial enclosures and other machinery.
Locks with a fixed latching distance are best when you know the precise distance you need. Since you won’t have to adjust the cam into position, these are faster to install than those with an adjustable latching distance.
Locks with a roller cam rotate more smoothly than those with straight and offset cams, making them easier to open and close. The cam won't scrape paint or metal chips off the frame that can damage sensitive electronics inside the enclosure. These locks are flush with the surface, so you won’t bump into or catch clothes on them.
For locks with mounting holes, the installation hole can be made with a round hole instead of the irregularly shaped standard cam hole. This is especially helpful if the material of the door is difficult to cut or part of an existing structure. Push the lock into your through hole and secure it with fasteners so it won’t rotate as you turn the head.
IP or NEMA rated locks have a gasket that helps keep dust and water from washdowns or brief submersions from entering through the lock. This helps you maintain your sealed enclosure's IP or NEMA rating.

Washdown Slotted-Drive Cam Locks
Help keep your sealed enclosure's contents safe from dust and water damage—these locks help maintain an enclosure's IP or NEMA rating for washdowns. All open with a slotted screwdriver, so they’re good for areas where you don’t want a complicated keying system.
Locks with an adjustable latching distance handle a wide range of latching distances, so they’re best for tasks when precise distances are unknown. Adjust the position of the cam before you begin to install them.
Locks with a protected or roller cam rotate more smoothly than those with other straight and offset cams, making them easier to open and close. The cam won't scrape paint or metal chips off the frame that can damage items in the enclosure. The roller cam also compresses a bit to help minimize rattling from vibration.
Locks that meet EN 45545 adhere to strict standards for flammability.

Two-Way-Drive Cam Locks
Open these locks with a two-way key (sold separately). Also known as a double-bit key, it’s more secure than a hex key or screwdriver, yet still matches a common keying system for industrial enclosures and other machinery. These locks also have a flat, concealed design that prevents others from tampering with them using pliers. Their cam rotates 90° to close enclosure doors, so they’re also known as quarter-turn locks.
Locks with a fixed latching distance are best when you know the precise distance you need. They’re faster to install than locks with an adjustable latching distance, since you won’t have to adjust the cam into position. To accommodate different latching distances, they come with multiple cams.
Locks with an adjustable latching distance handle a wide range of latching distances, so they’re best for tasks when precise distances are unknown. Adjust the position of the cam before installing. They project further into the enclosure than those with a fixed latching distance.
Locks with a roller or protected cam have the smoothest rotation of the locks we offer, making them the easiest to open and close. The cam won’t scratch or chip surfaces to protect electronics inside from paint or metal chips.
IP or NEMA rated locks have a gasket that keeps dust and water from getting in through the lock.

Washdown L-Handle Keyed Alike Cam Locks
Help keep your sealed enclosure's contents safe from water damage—these locks help maintain an enclosure's IP or NEMA rating for low-pressure washdowns. Also known as quarter-turn locks, they have an arm that rotates 90° to secure your enclosure. Choose them if you need several locks that open with the same key.
All of these locks include multiple cams, so you can change their fixed latching distance. Since you won’t have to adjust the cams into position, these locks are faster to install than those with an adjustable latching distance. Locks with roller cams rotate more smoothly than those with straight and offset cams, making them easier to open and close. The cams won't scrape paint or metal chips off the frame that can damage sensitive electronics inside the enclosure. The roller cams also compress a bit to help eliminate rattling from vibration.
Locks with a stainless steel shutter block rain, snow, and dirt from entering the lock cylinder, which can cause internal damage.

A gasket prevents water, dust, and dirt from getting into the enclosure through the lock. This helps you maintain your sealed enclosure’s IP65 and NEMA 4 ratings.
These locks come with three cams, so you can choose between three different latching distances. Each individual cam has a fixed latching distance. Since you won’t have to adjust the cams into position, these locks are faster to install than those that have cams with an adjustable latching distance. Locks with a roller cam rotate more smoothly than those with straight and offset cams, making them easier to open and close. The cam won’t scratch or flake enclosure surfaces to protect electronics inside from paint or metal chips.

Washdown L-Handle Padlockable Cam Latches
To help keep the contents of a sealed enclosure safe from water damage, these padlockable latches help maintain the enclosure's IP or NEMA rating for low-pressure washdowns. Also known as quarter-turn latches, they have an arm that rotates 90° to secure your enclosures.
All of the cams in these locks have a fixed latching distance. Since you won’t have to adjust the cams into position, these locks are faster to install than those with an adjustable latching distance. Locks with a roller cam rotate more smoothly than those with straight and offset cams, making them easier to open and close. The cam won’t scratch or flake enclosure surfaces to protect electronics inside from damaging paint or metal chips. The roller cam also compresses a bit to help eliminate rattling noises from vibration.
Use stainless steel latches in areas that are constantly exposed to moisture since they resist corrosion better than zinc latches.

Washdown L-Handle Cam Latches
Stop water from getting into your enclosure through the latch during low-pressure washdowns. These latches have a gasket that helps maintain your sealed enclosure's IP65 or NEMA rating. Also known as quarter-turn latches, they have a cam that turns 90° to hold your enclosure shut. Select the turn direction when mounting the cam. All come with multiple cams to accommodate different latching distances.
Latches with roller cams reduce friction to make doors easier to open and close than latches with standard cams. The cam rotates smoothly across your frame as you twist the handle. Thanks to this smooth rotation, the roller cam won't scrape paint or metal chips off and into your enclosure where they can damage sensitive electronics. They also create light compression to eliminate vibration and rattling when in use.
