Use these couplings to quickly link and unlink welding hoses, torches, and pressure regulators. They consist of a plug and socket that are sold together as a set of two—you’ll get one right-hand connection for oxygen and one left-hand connection for fuel gas. The connections are noninterchangeable and color coded so you can’t mix lines. Use these couplings when you need frequent access to a gas line. A complete coupling consists of a plug and a socket (sold separately or in a set) that connect and disconnect quickly. All of the natural and LP gas plugs are compatible with any of the natural and LP gas sockets of the same coupling size, regardless of the pipe size. Plugs and sockets are brass for good corrosion resistance. These couplings are rated ANSI Z21.41/CSA 6.9 for use with gas fuel appliances. CSA-US and CSA Certified, they also meet U.S. and Canadian safety standards.

Plugs are also known as nipples. They have a heat-sensitive fuse that will stop gas flow in the event of a fire.

Sockets have a shut-off valve that stops the flow when the coupling is separated, so gas won’t leak from the line. They are sleeve-lock style. To connect, slide back the sleeve on the socket, insert the plug, and release the sleeve. To disconnect, slide back the sleeve and pull out the plug.

NPTF (Dryseal) threads are compatible with NPT threads.

When couplings are not connected, add dust caps and plugs to keep contaminants out of your gas line.

Note: To ensure a correct fit, make sure that the plug and socket have the same coupling size.
