Ultra-Precision Machine Vises
Designed for precision grinding and inspection, the construction of these vises ensures workpieces are held perfectly square. To move the jaw, remove the screw using a 1/4" hex key (not included) and manually slide the jaw into position. Then replace the screw and tighten to firmly grip the workpiece. The base and three sides of the vise are ground flat to a parallel tolerance of 0.0002", enabling mounting on its base, either side, or upright. Mount through the base with screws or use setup clamps (not included). Vises can be used on Bridgeport-style milling machines as well as drill presses and surface grinders. They are also known as toolmakers’ vises.

High-Precision Milling-Machine Vises
The vise body and stationary jaw are one piece for a repeatable clamping accuracy of ±0.0005", even under heavy loads. Ground flat to a parallel tolerance of 0.0005" on the base and three sides, these vises ensure accuracy whether mounted on the base, either side, or upright. They are designed for use with 3- and 4-axis CNC milling machines. To hold wider workpieces, you can attach the jaws to the outside ends of the jaw holders.

High-Precision Cross-Slide Drill-Press Vises
The dials on these vises are graduated in smaller increments than standard cross-slide drill-press vises for finer adjustment. Turn the handles on the base to precisely position work on X and Y axes for drilling, tapping, and reaming applications. Turn the threaded main screw to move the jaw. Vises mount directly to your drill press.

Sine Vises
Lift the end of these sine vises by placing gauge blocks underneath—they hold tools and workpieces at precise angles for grinding, cutting, and inspecting. To determine how high to raise the end, multiply the sine of your desired angle by the distance between the vise’s dowels, which is the hypotenuse. They have a locking bar you tighten with a 5/32" hex key (not included) to secure the angle. Mount them to your work surface, or when you need to cut material on a compound angle, to a sine plate.
To grip workpieces—even small round parts such as pins and dowels—these sine vises have a jaw with horizontal and vertical V-shaped grooves. Adjust the jaw to workpieces of different sizes by loosening its screw with a 1/4" hex key (not included), sliding the jaw into position, and tightening the screw for a firm grip.

Indexing Collet Fixtures
Used with a 5C collet (sold separately), these fixtures rotate round, hex, or square workpieces up to 1 1/8" diameter in precise increments. Also known as spindexers or punch formers, they are commonly used to drill holes into cylindrical parts, grind punches into precision shapes, and sharpen drill bits and end mills. To ensure accurate rotation, spindles are precision ground. Mount fixtures to a machine table for horizontal orientation or an angle plate for vertical. A through-hole accommodates long workpieces.
Fixtures with 1° index increments have an indexing plate with 36 holes for rotating in 10° steps and 10 additional holes for 1° refinements. Fixtures with 15° index increments have 24 locking positions.
Ball-Lock Quick-Change Fixture Clamps
Build these components into fixture plates, machine subplates, and tombstones for quick changes. The system clamps and locates at the same time for accurate positioning with repeatability of ±0.0005". Components are compatible with Jergens Ball-Lock, Carr-Lane Carr Lock, and Kurt PinLock quick change systems.
For accurate positioning, at least two sets of clamps, liners, and receivers are required. Install the receivers in the base plate and the liners in the fixture plate. Then line up the two plates, insert the clamps, and tighten their screws to secure the fixture in place. If more holding capacity is needed, use additional clamps and receivers but omit liners to prevent the clamp from getting stuck in the fixture plate.

Bench Centers
Coupled with a variance indicator, these bench centers are often used to inspect and measure shafts, gears, arbors, and other workpieces. Use them to determine your workpiece’s roundness. They will also help you understand if the center of your workpiece is consistent throughout, often referred to as concentricity. And, they can assess your workpiece’s runout, which is how much your workpiece will wobble when it’s rotated. For accuracy, adjust the spring-assisted center until there’s a tight fit on your workpiece and then lock it in place.
Bench centers with a vertical orientation can sit upright to hold small but heavy workpieces that would be difficult to hold horizontally. To attach a variance indicator, add an indicator holder.
Indicator holders for horizontal-only bench centers work with lug-mount variance indicators.
