Tracking your machine component as it moves along a rotating threaded shaft, such as a spindle or lead screw, these indicators help you adjust machinery with speed and precision. They save time and prevent errors on process lines that you constantly adapt to suit different products, such as packaging lines.
Use the display number as either a reference point or as a true measure of distance. To measure distance, match the indicator’s count per revolution to your lead screw’s threads per inch or thread pitch.
Choose between indicators that count up when your lead screw rotates clockwise or counterclockwise.
Indicators with a stainless steel insert resist corrosion better than indicators with a black-oxide insert, making them better in humid locations.
Add shaft locking clamps to keep indicators in place and prevent vibration from shifting them.
Add shaft reducer bushings to adapt indicators to fit small diameter shafts.

Starrett Depth Gauges

Dial Height Gauges
The durable, analog design of these gauges holds up in machine and toolmaking shops where you regularly need to measure and mark material before cutting. Because they’re analog, they’re best when you don’t need to transfer data. In addition to their dial, they have two mechanical counters that display measurements—one counts up, the other counts down. Twist the hand wheel to adjust the height up and down the column. For repeat marking, set the attached scriber at a specific height. Use the zero-set button to start measuring at any point.
