How to Identify and Measure Fittings
Pipe size is an industry designation, not the actual size. View information about how to measure threaded and unthreaded pipe and pipe fittings.

Underground Snap-Lock Polyethylene Pipe Fittings for Drain, Waste, and Vent
- For Use With: Water
- Specifications Met: ASTM F667
The snap-together design allows you to quickly connect these fittings to pipe with no cement required. Fittings are typically used in gravity-flow drainage applications. Made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE), they stand up to freeze/thaw cycles and resist corrosion and stress cracking. Fittings meet ASTM F667 specifications and testing requirements for material quality as well as soil conservation service (SCS) standards for use in underground drain lines.
Offset straight adapters are also known as eccentric adapters; they have offset centers so the line can drain. Cut the tapered opening to 3 1/2” x 2 1/2” or 4” x 2 3/4”.
Warning: Never use plastic pipe fittings and pipe with compressed air or gas. Do not expose fittings to direct sunlight.

Underground Snap-Lock Polyethylene Pipe for Drain, Waste, and Vent
- For Use With: Water
- Specifications Met: ASTM F667
Pipe has a snap-together design that allows you to quickly connect to fittings with no cement required. It is typically used in gravity-flow drainage applications. Made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE), it stands up to freeze/thaw cycles and resists corrosion and stress cracking. Pipe is corrugated inside and out for flexibility. It meets ASTM F667 specifications and testing requirements for material quality as well as soil conservation service (SCS) standards for use in underground drain lines.
Nonperforated pipe allows you to flow drainage to one area. Perforated pipe has slits along the entire length that allow drainage to be dispersed.
Female/male ends connect to female or male snap-lock fittings. Male ends allow you to join two lengths of pipe without the need for a fitting.
Warning: Never use plastic pipe fittings and pipe with compressed air or gas. Do not expose pipe to direct sunlight.

Neutralization Tanks
For safe and legal disposal of corrosive chemicals, these tanks neutralize acid waste before it drains into sewer systems. Fill them with limestone chips (sold separately), which chemically react with waste to reduce its acidity. Often used in labs, these tanks rest on a solid surface below your sink. The inlet attaches to your sink drain where a P-trap would go, and the outlet threads into your drain pipe. These tanks are made of polyethylene to withstand prolonged contact with harsh chemicals.
Choosing a tank size involves several factors, including how much waste you generate and the types of chemicals you plan to treat. For effective neutralization, waste should spend three hours in your tank before exiting via gravity flow. Select a tank that is greater in size than the volume of chemicals you plan to dispose of in a three-hour period.
Before use, fill your tank up to the outlet with limestone chips. One 50-lb. bag of chips will fill a five-gallon tank. Schedule regular maintenance to clean your tank and check the chip level—neutralization will erode chips over time. Disposing of non-chemical waste, such as coffee grounds, into these tanks will make the limestone chips less effective.
Style A tanks have an adjustable-height inlet with a slip joint fitting to connect to sink drains. Style B and C tanks have larger capacities to process greater amounts of waste.
