Electrical Arc Flash-Resistant Shock-Absorbing
Fall-Arrest Lanyards with Anchor Point
Made of Kevlar, these lanyards meet ASTM F887 when used with an arc flash-resistant harness. Wrap the lanyard around a rated structure such as an I-beam and then attach it to itself to create an anchor point. For adequate fall clearance, you must have at least 18 1/2 ft. of clearance. Use in conjunction with a harness for a complete fall-arrest system.

Pole Climbing Equipment
Scale wooden poles to perform inspections and maintenance.
Climbing belts work in conjunction with positioning straps to provide a leverage point for climbing. Attach the positioning strap and your fall-arrest lanyard to the metal D-rings on the belt. Belts are fixed, so they do not allow side-to-side movement of the D-rings. Belts also hold your tools while climbing. They have a glove-bag ring, a tape holder, a two-way knife snap, four suspender rings, and four tool loops. To find your trade size, measure from one hip bone around the back to the other hip bone, then add 2". For example, if the length you measure is 20", then your trade size is 22D.
Positioning straps wrap around the pole to provide support while at height, freeing both hands for work. Connect them to the D-rings on your climbing belt with the locking snap hooks. They adjust up to 2 feet in length.
Pole climbers have cushioned leather pads for comfort, wide stirrups for solid foot support, and spikes that penetrate even hard, salt-treated poles for secure climbing. Adjust the length in 1/4" increments by removing and repositioning the screws in the leg irons. To determine your length, measure from your instep to 1" below your knee.
Replacement climber pads cannot be sold to Canada due to import regulations.
Note: Pole climbing equipment is not a substitute for fall-arrest equipment. Always use pole climbing equipment in conjunction with a fall-arrest harness, lanyard, and anchor point.

Twist-Locking Carabiners—Not for Lifting
Latch
Position
Latch
Position
Hold rope more securely than nonlocking and slide-release carabiners. While these carabiners are not as secure as screw-locking carabiners, they are easier to open.
Pull down/twist 90°/push in and lift up/twist 90°/push in carabiners are more secure than twist 90°/push in because they require an extra step to open.
Zinc-plated steel carabiners are mildly corrosion resistant. Aluminum carabiners are more lightweight and resist corrosion better than zinc-plated steel. Anodized carabiners offer excellent corrosion resistance. Stainless steel carabiners have excellent resistance to salt water and chemicals.
Styles 3 and 7-13 have either a removable eye pin or eyelet that secures rope to one end of the carabiner to prevent it from sliding or moving.
Carabiners with an offset latch open to the side, giving you more space to attach large items.
Carabiners with a locking indicator have a symbol that is shown when the carabiner is fully locked.
Carabiners that meet ANSI/ASSP Z359.12 have been tested for use in fall protection systems.

Climbing Kits
Often used for climbing electrical substations and utility towers, these kits function as a fall-arrest system during initial ascent and descent. One carabiner connects the 16-ft. anchor span rope to the climbing hook, and the other carabiner connects the rope grab to your harness. Hand tighten the included wing nut on the fiberglass pole (sold separately) to easily attach it to the climbing hook. Then, use the pole to place the hook, which is specially shaped to fit over angle iron, securely above you. The hook serves as an anchor point while climbing. These items help comply with OSHA 29 CFR 1926.502 requirements for warning line set up.
