About Paint and Protective Coatings

Paint for Metal
Paint metal surfaces to stop rust from starting and prevent existing rust from spreading. Scrape rusty areas clean before application. Although primer is not required for use on all materials, it can be used to prepare any surface to maximize the life and corrosion resistance of paint.
Acrylic paint is water-based and can be cleaned up with soap and water. It’s also known as latex paint.
Silicone paint stops corrosion on high-temperature surfaces, such as smokestacks, incinerators, heaters, and heat exchangers.
Paint in an aerosol can does not require a primer.
Apply paint in a one-gallon can with a brush, roller, or sprayer.

Paint
Enhance, renew, and protect surfaces.
Solvent-based paint keeps its color longer than water-based paint when used outdoors.
Paint for Roofs
Hide blemishes and protrusions on shingles and flashing. This paint matches common roofing material. It dries quickly to help keep leaves, pollen, and other contaminants from adhering, damaging your finish. Once dry, paint prevents corrosion on flashing and other metal surfaces.

Low-Temperature Epoxy Coatings
Keep working when temperatures drop—these coatings can be applied in temperatures down to 20° F, when other coatings would fail. Thicker than polyurethane and paint, they protect against abrasion and resist moisture and chemicals. Coatings may chalk with exposure to sunlight. Apply with a brush, roller, or sprayer. The size listed is the combined total of the two parts.

Low-Temperature Polyurethane Coatings
Apply these coatings in temperatures down to 20° F, when other coatings would fail. They handle high humidity and have superior abrasion, impact, and UV resistance while providing great color and gloss retention. Apply with a brush, roller, or sprayer. They're often used as a topcoat over epoxy coatings.
Thinners cannot be sold to the listed areas due to VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) regulations.
