These connectors meet international standards IEC 309-1 and 309-2, so they’re compatible with other IEC 309 devices. They allow you to connect and disconnect with the power on—spring-loaded contacts open like a switch when separating the connectors, preventing an electrical arc. All are approved as switch-rated connectors for branch and motor circuit disconnect switching. Connectors have a ground pin that is included in the number of wires. A filter through the middle isolates two pairs of outlets, so high voltage equipment plugged into one pair won’t affect the other pair. This prevents equipment that generates signal interference, such as transformers, from interfering with sensitive equipment plugged into the other side of the outlet strip. The circuit breaker prevents damage from current overload and short circuits. The surge suppression protects against damage from voltage spikes.
