Wire End Cutters for Hard Wire
Cut hard steel wire, nails, and small rivets close to the surface with the wide, flat jaws on these cutters. They're also known as nippers.
Long-Life High-Force Wire End Cutters for Hard Wire
The carbide-tipped steel jaws stay sharp longer than standard steel jaws. You can sharpen them as they wear. These cutters have a double hinge that provides high cutting force with low gripping pressure. Also known as nippers, they have wide, flat jaws that cut close to the surface. A spring opens the jaws for quick cutting.

Precision Wire End Cutters
Make accurate, flush cuts through small wire with these tweezer-style cutters. The smallest of our wire end cutters, they cut close to the surface with such high precision that they’re often used by jewelers to make watch repairs.
Steel cutters are harder than stainless steel ones, so the tips stay sharp longer. However, steel is more likely to corrode in wet environments than stainless steel.
Stainless steel cutters are corrosion resistant for use in damp or humid environments. Cutters with a tungsten carbide tip stay sharp longer than any other precision wire end cutters. However, the tip is brittle and can chip from accidental impact.
Diamond-coated steel cutters snip through the hardest metals and stay sharp longer than uncoated steel or stainless steel cutters. They’re also more corrosion resistant than either and are chemically inert.
Cutters with 3/16 in. tips won’t block your view of your wire, helping you make an accurate cut. They’re often used under microscopes or in other small spaces.

Corrosion-Resistant Static-Control Wire End Cutters
Made of stainless steel, these cutters won’t rust even when stored in damp environments. The grips drain static away from the blades to prevent damage to sensitive equipment from electrostatic discharge (ESD). Also known as nippers, these cutters have wide, flat jaws that make flush cuts, so you don’t nick anything beneath your wire. The spring-assisted jaws open automatically when you release the handles.

Precision Static-Control Wire End Cutters
Shaped like tweezers, these cutters make accurate, flush cuts in small wire without damaging the surface underneath. The grips drain static away from the tips, protecting sensitive components from electrostatic discharge (ESD). These end cutters are often used to trim excess wire leads after soldering electronic components onto circuit boards.
Cutters with tungsten carbide tips cut through the hardest metal and stay sharp longer than cutters with steel tips. These cutters have stainless steel handles to resist rusting in damp or humid environments.
Cutters with 9/32” lg. tips are short and rounded at the end to give you the best view of your wire. They’re often used under microscopes or in other small spaces.
Cutters with rubber grips are cushioned for a comfortable hold.

Static-Control Wire End Cutters
Snip wire close against circuit boards and other electronic components without building up electrostatic discharge (ESD). These cutters have grips that drain static away from the blades to prevent damage to sensitive equipment. Also known as nippers, they have wide, flat jaws that make flush cuts, so you don’t nick anything beneath your wire. The box-joint design helps them maintain their jaw alignment, even after frequent use. A spring opens the jaws for quick cutting. Since the grips are plastic, they're comfortable when you're making repeat cuts and won't slip from your hands.

Wire Cutters
Wire Cutter with Tip Cutting Edge | Wire with Semiflush Cut Profile |
Tapered Head |
Also known as diagonal-cutting pliers. Tapered-head cutters fit more easily in tight spaces than oval-head cutters, but they’re less durable.
Cut profile refers to the amount of pinch left on the tip of the wire after it has been cut. Semiflush cutters are the most widely used for electronics assembly and produce a slightly pointed, pinched end. They are generally more accurate than pointed-cut tools.
Tip-cutting tools allow precise cutting from above.

Economy Wire Cutters
Tip Cutting Edge | Wire with Flush Cut Profile |
Tapered Head |
Choose these wire cutters for your occasional use. Compared to standard wire cutters, they're not as durable. However, they have a slimmer head, so they fit where space is limited. This makes them great for depaneling panel circuit boards and cutting small gauge wire. Also known as diagonal-cutting pliers.
Cutters with a tapered head fit more easily in tight spaces than cutters with an oval head. However, they are less durable.
Cut profile refers to the amount of pinch left on the tip of the wire after it has been cut. Flush cutters produce a cut with virtually no pinch left on the tip of the wire after it has been cut, creating clean connections for easy soldering. However, flush-cut tools don’t last as long as pointed ones.
Tip-cutting tools allow precise cutting from above.

Cut profile refers to the amount of pinch left on the tip of the wire after it has been cut. Pointed cutters produce a deeply pointed, pinched end. Use for electrical and general applications. Semiflush cutters are the most widely used for electronics assembly and produce a slightly pointed, pinched end. They are generally more accurate than pointed-cut tools.
