Outside Micrometers for Tolerance Checking
Confirm a part is within your set tolerance. Set your minimum and maximum tolerance to quickly check where your part falls. They have a plain thimble that turns freely without friction or a stopping device. These micrometers rely on operator feel for accurate measurements.
Mitutoyo 523 series micrometers have tolerance pointers on the dial gage, so you can set your minimum and maximum tolerance.

Mitutoyo Micrometer Heads
Use these micrometer heads in jigs, fixtures, machine tools, movable tables, and other equipment that require precise adjustments. They are held in place by the cylindrical mounting hub using your existing brackets or fixtures. Spindle length is the maximum extended distance when the micrometer head is set at zero.
Plain thimbles turn freely without friction or a stopping device and rely on operator feel for accurate measurements.
Ratchet-stop thimbles have a constant-force mechanism for repeatable measurements without relying on user feel. A speeder knob reduces the time it takes to open and close the micrometer. When the spindle stops tightening, the thimble stops turning, but the speeder knob will continue turning with a clicking sound.
Nonrotating spindles prevent scratches on delicate work surfaces and eliminate distortion of soft or elastic material.
Round spindle tips reduce errors from misalignment, so they’re often used as feed devices.
Clamp nuts securely hold the micrometer head and provide extra support. Locknuts lock the spindle in place.

Precision-Adjustment Micrometer Heads
For near perfect positioning, the spindle on these micrometer heads moves in smaller increments than the spindle on any other micrometer head we offer. Mount them in equipment requiring extremely precise adjustments, such as positioning tables used in semiconductor manufacturing or in optical component alignment. Their round spindle tip minimizes alignment errors. The thimble turns freely without friction or a stopping device, so they rely on user feel. They are held in place by the cylindrical mounting hub using your existing brackets or fixtures. For a tight hold and extra support, secure the clamp nut against the bracket or fixture on the mounting hub.
Spindle length is the maximum extended distance when the micrometer head is set at zero.

Leveling Micrometer Heads
Precisely level heavy machines, surface plates, and other devices when accuracy is crucial. These heads raise and lower objects in 0.01 mm increments, which is as thin as a single sheet of paper. Turn the handle to adjust their height, even when under a machine.

Mitutoyo Dial Depth Gauges
Check depth measurements at a glance. These gauges have a dial that displays how far their blade extends into slots, holes, and grooves. Designed for frequent use, they’re often found in machine shops and other areas where digital measurements and data transfer aren’t required.
Base extensions (sold separately) increase the base width of your depth gauge to measure large diameter holes.

Starrett Top-Reading Dial Depth Gauges
Read the depth of holes directly from above. The probe on these gauges extends from the back of the dial instead of the bottom, making it easier to take and see measurements in hard-to-reach areas. Use them to help make sure machined parts will properly align and fit. With a durable analog design, these gauges hold up to regular use in machine shops. Since they’re not electronic, they’re best when you don’t need to transfer data.
