Corrosion-Resistant Washdown Limit Switches
Rated NEMA 6P, 13, and IP67, these switches are protected from corrosion, oil/coolant spraying, washdowns, and temporary submersion. When an object in motion comes into contact with the actuator, it sends a signal to open or close a circuit. They’re often used on conveyor systems and bin filling operations.
Styles D and E have an actuator that allows you to adjust its height, making it easier to align switch with the target during installation.
Switches with wire leads are rated NEMA 3S and IP69K and protected from rain, snow and sleet, and from high temperature, high pressure jets of water.

Safety Limit Switches
Protect machinery and ensure the safety of personnel—these switches have positive-force contacts that will open the circuit when actuated even if a spring fails or the contacts stick. When an object in motion comes into contact with the actuator, it sends a signal to open or close a circuit. They’re often used on conveyor systems and bin filling operations. All are NEMA and IP rated for protection from washdowns.
Styles E and F have an actuator that allows you to adjust its height, making it easier to align switch with the target during installation.
NEMA 13 and IP67 rated switches are protected from oil/coolant spraying and temporary submersion.

Compact Safety Limit Switches
Shorter and thinner than other safety limit switches, these are sized to fit tight spaces. They protect machinery and ensure the safety of personnel. Positive-force contacts open the circuit when actuated, even if a spring fails or the contacts stick. They send a signal to your circuit when an object hits the actuator—for instance, a box on a conveyor runs into the switch, stopping the conveyor. They open and close circuits as fast as snap-acting switches, but they have a bigger actuator for large objects. All are NEMA and IP rated for protection from washdowns.
Switches with a plunger actuator require a push to activate, similar to a button.
Switches with a roller plunger actuator have a roller that moves parallel to the mounting direction when an object pushes the actuator. This reduces friction during actuation to limit wear and tear.
Switches with a roller lever actuator use a lever with a roller at the end to activate. This allows parts to glide across the actuation surface with minimal friction, limiting wear and tear.
Switches with a wobble stick actuator have an arm that rotates 360°, so you don’t need to align it in a specific direction. The actuator won’t snap if pushed backward, such as if there’s a jam in your system.
Styles E and F have an actuator that allows you to adjust its height, making it easier to align the switch with the target during installation.
NEMA 13 and IP67 rated switches are protected from oil/coolant spraying and temporary submersion.

Hazardous Location Limit Switches
Safely open or close a circuit near ignitable gases and dust—the housing on these switches seals in anything that could ignite flammable material. You'll know they're safe because they're NEC Class I, Division 1, Groups B, C, and D; and Class II, Division 1, Groups E, F, and G certified for hazardous locations. These switches send a signal to your circuit when an object hits the actuator—for instance, a box on a conveyor runs into the switch, stopping the conveyor. They open and close circuits as fast as snap-acting switches, but they have a bigger actuator for large objects.
Switches with a plunger actuator let you adjust the actuator’s height to easily align it with your target. They require a push to activate, similar to a button.
Switches with a wobble stick actuator have an arm that rotates 360°, so you don’t need to align it in a specific direction. The actuator won’t snap if pushed backward, such as if there’s a jam in your system.

DC Metallic-Object Proximity Switches
Micro
M12 Plug
Also known as inductive proximity switches, these detect metallic objects even if they’re obscured by water, oil, dirt, or a surface finish. Sensing distance is based on the target material. The distance listed is for mild steel. They’re often used with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and produce PNP or NPN signal output. To determine the signal output of a switch you are replacing, use Testers for Proximity and Photoelectric Switches (not included).
Flush switches, also known as embeddable or shielded switches, can be mounted so that the sensor face is level with the surface of any material, including metal. They’re more accurate than projecting switches at close range and can be mounted close together without causing interference. Projecting switches, also known as non-embeddable or unshielded switches, must be mounted with the area around the sensor face free of metal. They have a longer sensing distance than flush switches with the same diameter.
Switches with a plug connect to cables with a socket (sold separately), allowing you to quickly connect and disconnect the switch.
Switches with IO link can be configured remotely when connected to a PLC, a human-machine interface (HMI), or a computer.
IP67 and IP68 rated switches are protected from temporary submersion. NEMA 6P rated switches are protected from corrosion and washdowns.

DC Metallic-Object Proximity Switches for Long Distances
Micro
M12 Plug
Sense objects from farther away than with other proximity switches that have the same diameter. Also known as inductive proximity switches, they remotely sense metallic objects even if they’re obscured by water, oil, dirt, or a surface finish. Sensing distance is based on the type of material being sensed. The distance listed is for mild steel. They’re often used with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and produce PNP signal output. Some automatically sense whether PNP or NPN signal output is needed.
Switches with a 4-pole Micro M12 plug connect to cables with a socket (sold separately), allowing you to quickly connect and disconnect the switch.
All are rated IP69K for protection from high-temperature, high-pressure washdowns. Some are also rated NEMA 6P, 13, and IP67 for protection from corrosion, oil/coolant spraying, and temporary submersion.

AC Metallic-Object Proximity Switches for Long Distances
Micro
All are rated NEMA 6P, 13, IP67 and IP69K.
Switches with a 3-pole Micro M12 plug connect to cables with a socket (sold separately), allowing you to quickly connect and disconnect the switch.

Harsh Environment DC Universal-Object Proximity Switches
Micro
M12 Plug
Rated NEMA 6P, 12, IP68 and IP69K, these switches protect against corrosion and high-pressure, high-temperature washdowns. Also known as capacitive proximity switches, they remotely sense both metallic and nonmetallic objects but their strength is in sensing materials such as plastic, ceramic, and clear targets. They’re often used with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and produce PNP or NPN signal output. To determine the signal output of a switch you are replacing, use Testers for Proximity and Photoelectric Switches (not included). They mount flush with the surface of any material, including metal, and are also known as embeddable or shielded switches. The 4-pole Micro M12 plug connects to cables with sockets (sold separately), allowing you to quickly connect and disconnect the switch.

Ultrasonic Switches
Detect objects and liquid or material levels to set off actions in your system—regardless of size, shape, or surface finish. These switches send out high-frequency sound waves that target small areas, so the surface and structure of your object won't affect results like photoelectric sensors, which sense using light. This makes them great for materials with uneven surfaces, such as granules and powder. They also sense objects when obscured by smoke, dust, debris, or water, but they don't work as well where there's wind, since it could disrupt their sound waves. Once an object is detected or a set level is reached, the digital output sends a signal to your controller to turn components in your system on or off. Use their plug to quickly connect and disconnect to cables with a socket (sold separately). UL listed, C-UL listed, and CE marked, all meet American, Canadian, and European safety standards.
Switches with two outputs let you set a minimum level on one output and a maximum on the other—for example, you can keep liquid levels constant by turning on a pump when the level drops too low and turning off the pump when it reaches the maximum.
Switches with PNP/NPN signal output automatically produce the signal you need based on the connected device.
90° elbow switches are compact to fit in tight spaces. They’re best for conveyors.
Rated IP67, all of these switches seal out dust and water if briefly submersed. NEMA 6 rated switches also stand up to weather and washdowns.

Ultrasonic Transmitters
Measure the distance to objects and the level of liquids and materials despite size, shape, or surface finish, and send that information to other parts of your system. Unlike photoelectric switches, which use light to detect objects, these transmitters emit high-frequency sound waves that target small spots, so the surface and structure of your object won’t affect results. This makes them great for materials with uneven surfaces, such as granules and powder. They also sense objects in dirty and wet places, but they don’t work well where there’s wind, since it could disrupt their sound waves. Use their plug to quickly connect and disconnect to cables with a socket (sold separately). UL listed, C-UL listed, and CE marked, they meet American, Canadian, and European safety standards.
All transmitters have an analog output, which means they continuously send measurements to monitor status and manage components in your system.
90° elbow transmitters are compact to fit in tight spaces. They’re best for conveyors.
Rated IP67, all of these transmitters seal out dust and water if briefly submersed. NEMA 6 rated transmitters also stand up to weather and washdowns.
