About Cam Latches and Locks
More
Knob Cam Latches
With a finger-grip knob, these latches fit where latches with handles won't. Select the turn direction of these latches when mounting the cam. The cam rotates to secure your enclosure.
Latches with a fixed latching distance are best when you know the precise distance you need. Since you won’t have to adjust the cam into position, these are faster to install than those with an adjustable latching distance.
Latches with an adjustable latching distance handle a wide range of latching distances, so they’re best for tasks when precise distances are unknown. Adjust the position of the cam before you begin to install them. To set the latching distance, turn the collar under the knob. They project further into the enclosure than those with a fixed distance.
Stainless steel latches are more corrosion resistant than zinc-plated steel latches, so they can be installed in environments with constant moisture.
IP-rated latches have a seal that helps keep dust and water from washdowns or temporary submersion from entering through the latch. This helps you maintain your sealed enclosure's IP rating.

Spring-Cam Knob Latches
These latches have a spring-wire cam that slips under a receiving catch on a cabinet body to create tension and hold cabinet doors and drawers closed. To latch, turn the knob a quarter-turn to draw the cam against the door or drawer surface. A quarter-turn in the opposite direction releases the tension and opens the door or drawer.
Latches with a serrated-spring cam hold tighter than those with a smooth-spring cam, making them best for applications with vibration.

Adjustable-Tension Tight-Hold Knob Cam Latches
Also known as adjustable compression cam latches, these adjust to compensate for door or drawer misalignment. To latch, turn the knob a quarter-turn and then continue to turn it to draw the cam firmly against the door or drawer surface.
For styles A-C, select the turn direction of the latch when mounting the cam. For styles D-G, turn the latch counterclockwise to open.

Tight-Hold Knob Cam Latches
The knob on these latches is easy to grip and less likely to snag straps or clothing than T- or L-handle latches. Also known as compression cam latches, these latches create a tighter hold than a traditional cam latch, so they’re useful for doors with a seal. Turn the head a quarter turn to latch, then another quarter turn to create compression and minimize rattling from vibration. A seal helps keep dust and water from washdowns or brief submersion from entering through the latch. This helps you maintain your sealed enclosure's IP rating. Made from stainless steel, they resist corrosion in areas with constant exposure to moisture.
They project further into the enclosure than those with a fixed latching distance.

Padlockable Knob Cam Latches
To fit in tight areas, these latches have a knob instead of a handle. Turn the knob 90° and the cam rotates to hold your enclosure shut. Use the included hardware to choose which direction the latch rotates 90° or leave out the hardware so the cam rotates 180°. If you add a padlock for extra security, the knob can’t turn.

Washdown Resettable Combination Cam Locks
Give multiple people access to secured items or equipment in washdown areas without requiring keys. A gasket prevents low-pressure washdowns, dust, and dirt from getting into an enclosure through the lock. This helps you maintain an IP65 rating in a sealed enclosure.
Reset the combination any time. Also known as quarter-turn locks, twist the knob to rotate the cam 90° to lock and unlock the door. They come with multiple cams to accommodate different latching distances.
