To determine door swing direction, stand on the side of the door where it swings away from you. If it opens to the right, it's a right swing door; if it opens to the left, it's a left swing door.

While they block most everyday noises, louder sounds might still be faintly audible. For example, noise from heavy machinery or shouting won’t be blocked completely by these doors but will be significantly reduced. Sound Transmission Class (STC) is rated on a scale from 25 to 65 to determine how well a door, wall, or other building partition reduces noise. A rating of 49 means that you would not be able to hear people speaking on the other side of the door.

Weather winds up to 250 mph—these doors meet FEMA and ICC (International Code Council) standards for tornado shelters. They won’t buckle if hit with flying debris moving at high speeds. All have been tested to withstand not only tornado-level winds, but also to resist bursting open from hurricane-level flooding. They’re also UL rated to withstand exposure to fire for up to three hours and prevent flames from spreading. Rated FEMA 320 and 361, they’re suitable for both commercial and residential use, and they can be installed in large rooms such as warehouses. The door panels, core, and frame are made of 12 ga. steel—that's three times thicker than a typical steel door. Three locking points keep these doors anchored in the frame.

These doors come hung in the frame for convenient installation. Also known as a flush frame, the frame is designed to mount seamlessly into exterior brick or cement block walls. Stop flood water at the door. With a continuously welded frame and rubber gaskets around their perimeter, these doors seal out water to meet ANSI/FM 2510 standards for flood barriers. They’ve been tested to let in no more than 3 gallons per hour in water up to 3 ft. high. For impact resistance, they're reinforced with internal steel braces. Fiberglass between the braces adds insulation and further moisture resistance. These doors are covered with a primed coating to prevent rust.

These double doors are UL fire-rated to help prevent the spread of fire. Handle backset distance is the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the door's handle cutout. Door frames are sold separately.

Removable center supports (sold separately) allow surface-mount exit devices to be used on double doors. They accept the strike plates included with standard and impact-resistant devices.
