About Heat-Shrink Tubing

High-Strength Heat-Shrink Tubing
With excellent resistance to tears and cuts, this tubing withstands demanding use. It also resists chemicals.
PVDF tubing has an additive that makes it flame retardant, so it resists combustion and minimizes the spread of flames. FEP tubing is more chemical resistant than PVDF tubing, and withstands higher temperatures.
SAE AMS-DTL-23053/8 and SAE AMS-DTL-23053/11 tubing meets requirements for material quality.
Flame rated VW-1 tubing meets requirements for preventing the spread of flames based on a timed test with vertically suspended material.
Dielectric strength is the maximum voltage a material can handle before it starts to breakdown. The higher the dielectric strength of a material, the better it is for preventing electricity, heat, or signal from dissipating from wire and cable.

Thin-Wall High-Strength Heat-Shrink Tubing
- Material: PET Plastic
- Shrink Ratio: 2:1
- Dielectric Strength: 1,500 V/mil
- Shrink Temperature: 190° F
- Temperature Range: -75° to 300° F
Even with walls as thin as plastic wrap, this PET plastic tubing withstands tears and nicks. Thanks to its thin walls, it shrinks down in seconds instead of minutes and at lower temperatures than PVDF and FEP plastic tubing. It also resists oil and grease. The sleeving is often used as a replacement for tape because it is durable and easy to install. Also known as Mylar tubing.
Dielectric strength is the maximum voltage a material can handle before it starts to breakdown. The higher the dielectric strength of a material, the better it is for preventing electricity, heat, or signal from dissipating from wire and cable.
