Half-Mortise Entry Door Hinges
Only one cutout (mortise) is needed to mount these hinges—the offset design allows surface mounting the door leaf and mortise mounting the frame leaf. These hinges are often used when it is difficult to mortise the frame, such as when hanging a hollow door on a solid frame. All hinges have mounting holes that form an industry-standard half-moon shape. Use them on doors without a door closer.
Chrome-plated low-carbon steel hinges have better corrosion resistance than primed low-carbon steel.

Bearings allow these hinges to open and close doors smoothly. Only one cutout (mortise) is needed to mount them—the offset design allows surface mounting the door leaf and mortise mounting the frame leaf. Hold-Closed Half-Mortise Concealed Cabinet Hinges
Spring tension pulls the door closed when it’s open less than 10° and keeps it closed without a catch or latch. Also known as European hinges, only one cutout (mortise) is needed for these hinges—mount the frame leaf to the inside cabinet wall and mount the door leaf into a recessed cutout (mortise) on the inside of the cabinet door. Once mounted, the hinges will be completely hidden from the outside when the door is closed. They are commonly found on washroom and kitchen cabinetry. All of these hinges have a nonremovable pin to deter tampering.
Nickel-plated steel hinges have mild corrosion resistance. These hinges also have a quick-release clip for easy door removal.
304 stainless steel hinges are more corrosion resistant than nickel-plated steel. They also have good chemical resistance.
Hinges for overlay doors are for doors that cover their frame.
Hinges for half overlay doors are for doors that cover half of their frame.
Hinges for inset doors are for doors that are flush with their frame when the door is closed.
