Grinding Bit Sets for Metals
Each set contains a selection of grinding bits. All include bits made of aluminum oxide, which is the most common abrasive used for grinding metal. These bits are also known as mounted points and die grinder bits.
Sets for steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, iron, and nickel contain bits made from a range of abrasive materials in different shapes and sizes. They’ll help you achieve varying levels of finish on a wide range of materials. Cotton laminate/aluminum oxide blend bits remove more material than rubber-cushioned aluminum oxide bits, and they’ll create a nicer finish than vitrified ceramic alumina bits. Bits with nylon mesh remove the least material but create the nicest finish.
Caution: As bit shank is exposed beyond 1/2", maximum safe rpm decreases significantly. Refer to ANSI standard B7.1. Use only accessories that have a greater rpm rating than the maximum speed of the grinder you choose.
