Slippery Wear-Resistant Easy-to-Machine
Delrin® Acetal AF Resin Tubes
- Color: Brown
- Temperature Range: -40° to 185° F
- Tensile Strength: 7,690-8,100 psi (Good)
- Impact Strength: 0.7-1 ft.-lbs./in. (Poor)
- Hardness: Rockwell R115-R118 (Hard)
- For Use Outdoors: No
- Specifications Met: See table
PTFE is added to these Delrin® acetal resin tubes to make the surface even more slippery and wear resistant. They resist expanding when exposed to heat and moisture, so they can be machined to close tolerances. Fabricate them into pump components, gears, and bearings. The OD is oversized and the ID is undersized for finishing to the sizes listed. Delrin® acetal resin is also known as acetal homopolymer.

Durable Glass-Filled Chemical-Resistant Slippery PTFE Tubes
- Color: Off-White
- Temperature Range: -350° to 500° F
- Tensile Strength: 1,000-2,500 psi (Poor)
- Impact Strength: Not Rated
- Hardness: Durometer 55D-66D (Medium Soft)
- For Use Outdoors: Yes
- Specifications Met: UL 94 V-0
For increased rigidity and durability over standard PTFE tubes, choose these glass-filled PTFE tubes. They offer the same naturally slippery surface that you’d expect from PTFE, along with the excellent resistance to chemicals and extreme temperatures. They can be machined to close tolerances because the reinforcement prevents them from expanding when exposed to water and heat. The OD is oversized and the ID is undersized for finishing to the sizes listed.

High-Temperature PTFE Pipe Nipples and Pipe for Chemicals
- For Use With: Deionized Water, Hydrochloric Acid, Solvents
- Temperature Range: -450° to 550° F
- Specifications Met: ASTM D1710
- Fittings: Use Schedule 80 PTFE Plastic
- Flanges: Use Class 150 PTFE Plastic
This PTFE pipe can withstand a wider temperature range than any of our other plastic pipe for chemicals. It has the chemical resistance to stand up to acid and solvents. Also known as Schedule 80 pipe, it has thick walls for heavy duty industrial applications. The material won’t leach contaminates into the line, so this pipe is commonly used in high-purity processes, such as semiconductor and clean room applications. It has a super-smooth interior for unrestricted flow. Pipe meets ASTM D1710 specifications and testing requirements for material quality.
Warning: Never use plastic pipe fittings and pipe with compressed air or gas.
Sealants cannot be sold to Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Northern Virginia, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, or Utah due to local VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) regulations.
For technical drawings and 3-D models, click on a part number.
To prevent leaks in threaded connections, apply a non-hardening, plastic-compatible sealant to the male threads. Tape or sealants with PTFE are not recommended for plastic-to-plastic threaded connections. When making a threaded connection be careful not to overtighten the threads. To prevent cracks and leaks, finger tighten the fitting, then wrench-tighten one to two turns.
Fully threaded pipe is also known as a close nipple; it is threaded on each end to the center.

Flame-Retardant PVDF Pipe Nipples and Pipe for Chemicals
- For Use With: Chlorine, Salt Water, Solvents
- Max. Temperature: 280° F
- Specifications Met: ASTM D3222, UL 94 V-0
- Fittings: Use Schedule 80 PVDF Plastic
- Flanges: Use Class 150 PVDF Plastic
Pipe meets UL 94 V-0 for flame retardance, so it delays the spread of flames to valuable equipment. It is PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride), which is comparable to Kynar, and has the chemical resistance to stand up to solvents and other harsh substances. Also known as Schedule 80 pipe, it has thick walls for heavy duty chemical processing applications. Pipe meets ASTM D3222 specifications and testing requirements for material quality.
