Insulating Rivet Nuts
A nonconductive rubber coating insulates the nut from electricity, seals out moisture, and damps vibration. Also known as well nuts. Length is measured from under the flange.

Insulating Rivet Nut Assortments
A neoprene rubber coating insulates the brass nuts in these assortments from electricity, seals out moisture, and dampens vibration. Also known as well nuts, they add re-usable threads to material that is too thin to be tapped, like sheet metal. To install, you just need a screw. A flange on top of the nut distributes pressure across the mounting surface. As you thread the screw, the rubber body of the nut collapses and flares, creating another flange on the back of the material. This flange distributes force and prevents the nut from pulling through thin material.
