Arc-Flash-Protection Face Shields

Provide protection from low-level arc flash hazards when a full hood is not necessary. These face shields meet NFPA 70E standards for protection against electrical arc flashes for personal protection equipment (PPE) category 2. Check the PPE category and minimum arc rating provided for your workplace, and then select all required clothing and personal protective equipment to meet the minimum arc rating. Arc rating measures a garment’s ability to insulate the wearer from burns; the higher the arc rating, the greater the flame resistance. Meets ANSI/ISEA Z87.1 basic impact standards when worn with safety glasses or goggles. Hard hats have a ratchet adjustment with an easy-turn knob.

Low-Profile Auto-Darkening Welding Helmets
Also known as pancake welding helmets, these helmets have a flat face so you can get close to your welds. They’re often used when welding pipes, but are also useful where a standard welding helmet would be too bulky. These helmets extend further on one side than a standard welding helmet does for increased face protection from UV light, sparks, and spatter. A balsa wood box mounted inside the helmet fits around your face and eyes to block all light, even when working outdoors. Sand the box for a customizable fit. Designed for all-day comfort, they’re made of lightweight carbon fiber and have an open back for plenty of airflow.
These helmets have a large viewing area for a clear view of your workspace. The instant you start to weld, the lens darkens. Solar cells recharge the helmet’s battery while you work.
Choose a helmet based on which hand you use to hold your torch—they’re designed to protect the side opposite your welding hand, where sparks are most likely to fly. This means that left-hand helmets extend further on the right while right-hand helmets extend further on the left.
Optical clarity measures how clearly a welder can see through the lens based on four categories: visual accuracy, light diffusion, consistency, and distortion. Each category is given a rating on a scale of 1 to 3. The lower the number, the better the clarity. Better optical clarity allows for precise welds, reduces eye strain, and improves focus.
Warning: These helmets are made of carbon fiber, a conductive material. Never let them touch the welding rod holder and the material your ground cable is on at the same time. This could result in electrical shocks, burns, or eye injuries.

Auto-Darkening Welding Helmets

Protect your eyes the moment you start welding—four sensors detect the light and automatically darken the lens. Unlike traditional green welding lenses, these helmets use a true color lens to enhance clarity and color accuracy. They allow for a better look at your weld pool to increase weld quality and reduce eye strain. To customize the helmet’s fit so you can focus on welding, these helmets have a ratchet adjustment with an easy-turn knob. Solar cells recharge the helmet’s battery while you work.
Nylon plastic helmets offer a wider range of shade numbers and better optical clarity than polycarbonate helmets. They use digital controls to adjust settings such as shade number, light sensitivity, and mode selection.

Arc-Flash-Protection Clothing Kits
For protection from arc flash hazards, these kits include several of the safety items you may need. All items meet NFPA 70E for protection against flames and electrical arc flashes.
Choose clothing that meets the arc rated personal protective equipment (PPE) category required by your workplace. PPE Category 2 kits have the most common arc-flash-protection rating for industrial applications. Style A kits come with a hard hat, face shield, hood, and storage bag.
Style B kits come with a hard hat, face shield, hood, coveralls, and two storage bags.
When measuring chest size, measure around the fullest part of your chest. Take all measurements over any garments you expect to wear under the protective clothing.

Flame- and Arc-Flash Cold-Protection Face Masks

These face masks meet NFPA 70E standards for protection against electrical arc flashes for personal protection equipment (PPE) category 2. Check the PPE category and minimum arc rating provided for your workplace, and then select all required clothing and personal protective equipment to meet the minimum arc rating. Arc rating measures a garment’s ability to insulate the wearer from burns; the higher the arc rating, the greater the flame resistance. These hats are made of abrasion-resistant aramid/viscose blend fabric, which keeps you warm without accumulating moisture.

Flame- and Arc-Flash Cold-Protection Gaiters

Shield your face and neck from flame and electrical hazards while working in the cold. These gaiters meet NFPA 70E and 2112 standards for protection from arc flash and flash fire. They’re rated PPE category 2, which is the most common arc flash standard for industrial applications. Made from a modacrylic fabric, these gaiters are lightweight and flexible. They trap heat but allow moisture to escape, so you stay warm and dry. They have four-way stretch for a customizable fit—fold them in half for a double layer of protection and warmth.
Check the PPE category and minimum arc rating provided for your workplace, and select all required clothing and personal protective equipment to meet that rating.

Ultra-Flame-Resistant Clothing Kits

Withstand flash fire for up to 8 seconds—the clothes in these kits can protect you for twice as long as most flame-resistant clothing. Made of rayon/aramid, the coveralls and mask absorb moisture to keep you cool and comfortable.
The coveralls have a 10 ft. Kevlar strap, so nearby teammates can pull you to safety without putting themselves at risk if there’s a fire. The reflective stripes keep you easy to see where there's low visibility. The zipper closure on the front is covered by a hook-and-loop flap so it doesn't scrape equipment or get hot. The legs have zippers on the sides as well, so you can fit them over bulky boots. Tighten the hook and loop straps on the bottom of the pants to keep flames out. The sleeves have cuffs with thumb holes to keep the sleeves in place and prevent flames from sneaking in.
Measure around the fullest part of your chest to determine your size. Take all measurements over any clothing you expect to wear under the coveralls.
Clothing kits cannot be sold to the listed areas due to product regulations.
