Check that your material and work surfaces won’t discharge static electricity, which can damage sensitive electronics. These testers are designed to take measurements in accordance with ANSI guidelines for electrostatic discharge control. They measure electrical resistance up to 1×1012 ohms—five orders of magnitude greater than our multimeters.
These testers measure resistance between two points on a surface and from the surface to a ground. To avoid a sudden release of static, resistance should be between 1×106 and 1×109 ohms.
Small Parts Probe—Use the small parts probe (sold separately) to measure resistance on small items or in hard-to-access areas.
Packaging Probe—Use the packaging probe (sold separately) to measure resistance of thin packaging and films.

Static Charge Meters

Don’t be fooled by cheap knockoffs—our meters locate and measure static charges as high as ±30kV, the widest measurable range available in a handheld device. Aim at surfaces to detect static buildup near sensitive electronics or flammable materials before it sparks a hazard. Dual LED guide lights overlap into a bullseye at the correct measuring distance of 1" for error-free results every time.
If your assembly line uses ionizing blowers or bars, snap on the included ion base plate to verify that they're eliminating static as intended. Press the HOLD button to freeze the display while you jot readings down, or connect to a data logger with the included analog cable for a full record of all your results.
