Adhesive-Back Frame-Mount Weatherstripping

No need to drill mounting holes, this weatherstripping has a peel-and-stick adhesive backing. Mount it to the sides and top of a door or window frame to seal gaps. The adhesive is made of acrylic for a waterproof and weatherproof bond.
Bulb seals conform to doors, compensating for irregular surfaces. They restrict airflow better than flat seals. Made of silicone, they withstand high temperatures and UV rays.
Finned seals have two flat fins that create multiple sealing points against a door. They compensate for uneven surfaces better, insulate better, and last longer than flat seals. Made of TPE, they resist UV rays like silicone bulb seals and withstand abrasion, tears, and solvents better. However, TPE will deteriorate and crack at temperatures above 250° F.
Flat seals are made of a graphite/rubber blend, which expands by as much as 10 times their original thickness in extreme heat to completely seal out flames. Also known as intumescent seals, they’re commonly used in fire doors, which often have a built-in groove shaped to fit them.
V-strip seals are made of stiff, folded material. One arm mounts to your door frame while the other presses firmly against the door to block airflow. They’re also known as tension seals. Bronze seals are durable and corrosion resistant, and often used on historical buildings to match the existing design. Stainless steel seals are stronger than rubber ones and more corrosion resistant than bronze ones. Often used in marine environments and food plants, they won’t degrade from contact with mild chemicals or detergents.
Seals that meet UL 1784 are rated for use as smoke and draft control gaskets.

Adhesive-Back Frame-Mount Weatherstripping Sets

With five pieces of peel-and-stick weatherstripping, these sets include everything you need to seal a standard single door without hardware or tools. Place two pieces end-to-end on each side of your door frame and one piece on top to close gaps and keep out drafts, moisture, dust, and insects. The bulb seal compresses against your door—even conforming to uneven surfaces—for a fully closed barrier. Made of vinyl, the seal is flexible, durable, and moisture resistant. A 3M VHB (Very High Bond) adhesive ensures they’ll stay attached to your door frame in any weather. For a precise fit, cut the pieces to length with a hacksaw.

Noise-Damping Frame-Mount Weatherstripping

Keep noise, dust, and drafts out of your space. The large, dense seal on this weatherstripping muffles sounds that would otherwise travel through gaps in your door frame. Made of closed-cell neoprene foam, the seal is less permeable than solid neoprene or vinyl seals and compresses more tightly against uneven surfaces. It resists abrasion, water, and oil, and holds up to extended outdoor use without cracking or breaking down. It’s also resilient, so it quickly bounces back to its original shape. Mount it to the sides and top of a door frame.
Ribbed seals have a wide surface with multiple ridges. Each ridge presses against the door to form multiple barriers, so they insulate better than flat seals.
Flat seals form a solid barrier when used on even surfaces. However, they don’t conform to irregular surfaces as much as ribbed seals do. These seals meet UL 1784 for smoke and draft control and ASTM E90 for sound reduction.

Adjustable-Seal Frame-Mount Weatherstripping

For a tight fit, the seal projection can be adjusted. Mount this weatherstripping to the sides and top of a door frame to seal gaps. The seal is heat- and UV-resistant silicone.
Bottom-Mount Weatherstripping

Also known as door sweeps, this weatherstripping closes the gap between the bottom of the door and the floor.
Bulb seals compress against the floor or threshold to form a tight seal, and they conform to uneven surfaces. They insulate doors better than flat, finned, and brush seals.
Flat seals press tight against smooth surfaces, forming a solid barrier that blocks insects, wind, and precipitation. However, they don’t compensate for uneven surfaces as well as brush, bulb, or finned seals.
Finned seals have three layers that press against the floor to create three separate barriers. They look similar to flat seals, but they’re better at insulating uneven surfaces.
Brush seals have flexible bristles that fill the gaps in irregular surfaces, such as pitted concrete, to block light, wind, and moisture. Made of nylon, the bristles are durable and long-lasting. They’re also lightweight, so they won’t slow down self-closing doors.
SBR resists moisture and abrasion. It’s often used for seals on high-traffic doors, since it won’t break down from dragging on rough surfaces. Unlike neoprene, it's not oil resistant.
Neoprene is more weather resistant than SBR and vinyl. It also stands up to water, oil, and detergents.
Vinyl is flexible, durable, and moisture resistant.
Seals with an anodized aluminum flange are more corrosion resistant than seals with an aluminum flange. The finish won’t tarnish even in harsh weather conditions.
Seals with a stainless steel flange are stronger than seals with an aluminum flange. They’re also more chemical and corrosion resistant.
Seals that meet UL 1784 are rated for smoke and draft control.

Self-Adjusting Bottom-Mount Weatherstripping

Avoid scuffing your floor and reduce wear on your seals—this weatherstripping has a plunger that lowers the seal as the door is closed and raises it as the door is opened. Also known as door sweeps, they close the gap between the bottom of the door and the floor. Weatherstripping can be cut with a saw. Up to 12" can be removed from weatherstripping with a vinyl seal. Up to 4" can be removed from weatherstripping with a nylon, silicone, or neoprene seal.
Brush seals have flexible filaments that conform to fill gaps. The filaments are nylon for good wear resistance.

Wraparound Bottom-Mount Weatherstripping

Seal drafts, dust, and insects out of your space—this weatherstripping hugs the bottom of your door. Also known as door sweeps.
Flat seals press tight against smooth surfaces to form a solid barrier. However, they don’t compensate for uneven surfaces as well as bulb seals. Behind the seal, there’s a fire-stop strip that expands to eight times its original size in temperatures above 375° F. During a fire, it completely fills any gaps. This weatherstripping is often added to existing fire doors to help them meet NFPA safety regulations without replacing the entire door. Use end plates to cover the sides of the doors for a finished look from every angle.
Neoprene is more weather resistant than vinyl. It stands up to abrasion, water, oil, and detergents.
Stainless steel is stronger than aluminum, so it holds its shape better if exposed to fire. It’s also more chemical and corrosion resistant.

Wraparound Top-Mount Weatherstripping

Close gaps between the top of a fire-rated door and its frame to comply with NFPA safety regulations. This UL-certified weatherstripping is often used to modify existing fire doors that no longer meet fire codes, so they don’t need to be replaced. Weatherstripping consists of a bulb seal, a fire-stop strip, a flange, and two end plates.
When the door is closed, the bulb seal compresses against the door frame, forming a tight barrier. This seal blocks air and compensates for uneven surfaces better than flat seals. Made from silicone, it’s durable enough to hold up to daily wear and tear. It’s also UV-resistant, and it withstands temperatures up to 450° F. A fire-stop strip lines the opposite side to completely seal gaps during a fire. When temperatures rise above 375° F, the strip expands to eight times its original size.
The stainless steel flange resists corrosion from water and chemicals. Stronger than aluminum flanges, it holds its shape even when fire is present. End plates are used to cover gaps on the sides of the doors for a finished look from every angle.
