    Hammer-Set Cotter Pins
    3D CAD models available

Unlike standard cotter pins, you only need access to one side of these pins to install. They’re often used where obstructions make it difficult to reach around a clevis pin or locknut to secure it. Strike the head to drive them through a hole and force the prongs apart. Once installed, these pins are permanently bent and can’t be reused.

Zinc-Plated Carbon Steel—These pins withstand occasional exposure to moisture. However, since friction from moving parts can wear away the finish, they're not ideal for wet environments. While not nearly as corrosion resistant as stainless steel, they are stronger and won’t deform under stress.

Even under extreme stress and vibration, these heavy duty pins won’t work their way out of a hole. The wedge-lock design withstands the most demanding applications, including securing railcar wheels. You only need access to one end of the pin to install. Slide into a hole and then hit the head with a hammer to wedge the prongs open. Once installed, these pins are permanently bent and can’t be reused.

Carbon Steel—Stronger than stainless steel, these pins won't deform from stress and vibration. They perform best in dry environments since moisture will cause them to rust.
