Fixture Plates
Lay the foundation for your fixturing setup. These plates have a grid with evenly spaced threaded holes to install angle brackets and other fixturing components. They’re often used to help secure workpieces for measuring and inspecting. Just like a battleship gameboard, the edges are labeled with letters and numbers, making it easy to identify holes. While these lightweight plates aren’t for machining, you can use them for light fabrication jobs, such as laser marking. All can be attached to your table with clamps (not included), making them easy to remove and swap.
Anodized aluminum plates are often used with coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) and optical comparators. The coating protects them from scratches and wear, even when you’re working with heavy parts.
Plates with mounting holes can be bolted down on fixture tables for more stability than those held down by clamps. Make sure the grid of your plate and table align for precise measurements.
Quick-change adapters fasten to the side of plates, converting them into quick-change fixture plates. Rather than having to clamp or bolt plates down, adapters let you snap them in and out of a magnetic mounting rail.

Fixturing for Parts Inspection
From towers and brackets to standoffs and supports, these components are the building blocks for your custom fixturing setup. They elevate parts so you can access a variety of angles for measuring and inspecting while protecting your measuring device from hitting the inspection table. You’ll often see them used with coordinate measuring machines (CMMs). They’re not for use in machining applications.

Fixture towers give you four vertical grids and a small horizontal one on top, so you can set up custom scaffolds to position parts in several planes. Their height makes them useful for propping up large workpieces. Each tower can uphold multiple parts. The threaded holes on the vertical grids are labeled with letters and numbers, making it easy to identify holes.

Angle brackets create a 90° mounting point, so you can secure small workpieces with supports. Shorter than towers, they’re a good choice for parts that are about the size of your palm. The base bolts into your surface, so these brackets won’t budge.

Standoffs raise the height of towers and angle brackets or extend the reach of supports and clamps. Screw them into one another for added length. Standoffs with adjustable height have a thumb screw to raise and lower components with precision.

Corner plates act as a repeatable stop, making it easy for your CMM and vision system to find your workpiece. When using them with a vision system, fasten them to an acrylic plate. They have threaded holes for standoffs and other fixturing components.
Clamps for Parts Inspection

With a light yet sturdy hold, these clamps help you keep workpieces in place hands-free for measuring and inspecting. Thread them right into your fixturing surface, whether it’s a plate, tower, or table. Because they apply less pressure than machining clamps, they won’t distort your parts, so you can take accurate measurements. While these clamps aren’t sturdy enough for use in machining, you can still use them for light fabrication work, such as laser engraving.
Hold-down clamps secure parts from the top.
Tension spring clamps are the most common type of clamp. Slide the arm down the shaft until it touches the top of your workpiece. Since you apply pressure directly, using too much force might move your part. Clamps with a rubber-coated tip are less likely to scrape parts than clamps with an uncoated tip.
Wire tension spring clamps have a slimmer profile than standard clamps, which means they don’t cover up as much of your workpiece. They’re often used to clamp small parts. Pull the wire arm away from the shaft, position your part, then release the arm so it moves back to cradle your part in place.
Clamps with a thumb screw give you more control over the pressure you apply on a workpiece than tension spring clamps. Twisting the screw moves the clamp up or down in small increments, so they’re less likely to dent or scratch your workpiece. The knurled head on the screw is slip resistant, letting you make precise turns with reliable grip.
Positioning clamps give you the most flexible setup of any clamps. They’re the best choice for curved or irregular shapes, such as cylinders. Both sliding pins on each arm have an O-ring that compresses when you push them tight against a workpiece. The O-ring cushions the pressure you apply, and it also gives grip while protecting parts from scratches. With an arm that rotates 360°, you can create movable supports. These clamps also have a magnetic flange to help secure metal parts.

Quick-Change Fixture Plates
Snap these magnetic plates in and out of the mounting rail as swappable stages for measuring and inspecting parts. Unlike standard fixture plates that you need to bolt or clamp down, these quickly attach and release, creating a hub of plates that are locked and loaded. As your coordinate measuring machine (CMM) works in the background, position your next workpiece on another plate so it’s ready to switch out for the next run. If you need more room to inspect parts, combine plates in a chain to extend your surface. While they’re not sturdy enough for use in machining, you can use them for light fabrication work, such as laser engraving.
When docked on a rail, the strong magnets in these plates hold them still. The lightweight aluminum makes them easy to lift and swap, and an anodized coating protects them from scratches and wear, even if you’re working with heavy parts.
Fixture plates hold components such as towers, clamps, and standoffs in the evenly spaced holes to raise and position parts. Plates with four mounting edges can be rotated in 90° increments. Instead of having to reposition your workpieces, turn the plate to access other angles.
Corner plates make it easy for your CMM to find a workpiece since they act as a repeatable stop. The negative space gives you access underneath parts that are propped up.
Plates for calibration spheres take the work out of threading a sphere in and out of your table every time you calibrate your CMM. Move them off to the side when you’re not calibrating to prevent the probe of your CMM from crashing into the sphere. Keeping your sphere up and out of the way instead of stored in a drawer protects it from scrapes and bumps.
Mounting rails are the home base for your magnetic fixture plates, corner plates, and plates for calibration spheres. Bolt them to your table to secure the dock for your quick-change system hub. Quick-change plate adapters allow you to convert a standard fixture plate into a quick-change fixture plate compatible with the mounting rail.
