Oblong Links—For Lifting
Also known as master and sling links, a large inner diameter provides room to attach multiple connectors or legs on a sling. Use these links in general lifting applications. All meet strict ASME safety standards for lifting.
Links for Grade 100 chain are approximately 20% stronger than links for Grade 80 chain.
Powder-coated alloy steel links have mild corrosion resistance.
Links with a flat have a spot that's thinner than the rest of the link, so you can slip on connectors that otherwise wouldn't fit. The flat doesn't affect the capacity of the link.
Forged links offer greater strength than welded links.
Note: Capacities listed are for vertical lifting only. As the angle changes from vertical, the amount of weight the link can lift is significantly reduced.
