Ceramic Fiber Insulation Sheets for Furnaces

- Specifications Met: See table
The most common of our flexible high-temperature sheets, these are used to insulate furnaces. They also can be fabricated into gaskets. Insulation performs best at temperatures above 1000° F.
Sheets without binder don’t have a binder that can burn when installed, so they won’t produce a strong odor. They’re often used to vacuum heat treat furnaces. However, they’re weaker and more brittle than sheets with a binder.
Sheets with binder are stronger in structure, easier to cut, and more pliable than those without a binder. The binder will burn out at 350° and release gas with a strong odor, so only use them in applications where burnout is not an issue.

Acid-Resistant Silica Insulation Sheets for Furnaces

- Temperature Range: 0° to 2000° F
- Heat Flow Rate: 0.78 Btu @ 800° F
- Density: 10 lbs./cu. ft.
- Color: White
Commonly used in furnaces and engine compartments, these flexible silica fiber sheets resist corrosive acids. They perform best at temperatures above 1000° F.
High-Temperature Ceramic Fiber Pipe Insulation
Shield against extreme heat with these flexible ceramic strips. They are often used to insulate hose, cables, and process piping.
Alumina oxide ceramic fiber has the lowest heat-flow rate of all the ceramic fiber materials.
Alkaline earth silicate ceramic fiber, also called AES, has a foil facing to reflect radiant heat.
Insulation with adhesive backing allows you to install without having to hold in place. Secure with band clamps or other parts of the assembly once in position. Apply while cool. Adhesive will start to wear off around 400° F, but this does not affect the insulation’s temperature rating.

No-Irritation Ceramic High-Temperature Sleeving

Unlike fiberglass and silica, this sleeving won't irritate skin, so it’s easier to handle. It withstands open flame and molten metal splash, making it a good choice for welding applications. The ceramic fabric also resists acids, alkalies, alcohol, solvents, oil, and gasoline. Because this sleeving is non-expandable, it does not stretch, so it’s best for applications where you know the exact diameter of the items you need to protect. It meets MIL-I-24244 for material quality.

Ultra-High-Temperature Ceramic Gasket Material

Our highest temperature gasket sheets, these are made of high-alumina ceramic and can withstand temperatures up to 2600° F. Use them when a strong seal is required in boilers and furnaces. Cut with a utility knife.
For technical drawings and 3-D models, click on a part number.
Ultra High- and Low-Temperature Ultra-Conformable Rope Edge Seals

Alumina silicate is loosely woven to create these ceramic seals that are stronger, more flexible, and able to resist higher temperatures than Ultra High- and Low-Temperature Rope Edge Seals. They are commonly used as to tie products together during high-temperature processing, but they can handle cryogenic applications just as well. They won’t burn and they resist molten metal splash. These seals also resist steam, salts, grease, detergents, bleach, and hydraulic fluid; however, they will absorb these substances. Push them into the groove that’s commonly built into oven doors, furnaces, and tanks.

Ultra High- and Low-Temperature Rope Edge Seals

A wide temperature range makes these ceramic seals equally suitable for use in cryogenic applications as they are for extreme-heat applications. They’re made from tightly woven calcium alumina silicate, so they won’t burn and they resist molten metal splash. They also resist steam, salts, grease, detergents, bleach, and hydraulic fluid; however, they will absorb these substances. Push them into the groove that’s commonly built into oven doors, furnaces, and tanks.

Ultra High-Temperature Chemical-Resistant Flange-Mount Rope Edge Seals

A ceramic cover makes these seals more chemical resistant than the seals with a silica cover. Seals resist acids (except hydrofluoric and phosphoric), diluted alkalies, most refrigerants, salts, and grease. The flange on these seals slides into a slot that is commonly found on oven, furnace, and boiler doors; it can be positioned to cover large gaps.
