Barrel-Style DC Connectors
Made with industry standard barrel-style ends, these connectors carry DC power between electronic devices and power supplies.
Housing Connection—Pair connectors that have the same type of housing connection. Push-in connectors are quick to connect and disconnect. Screw-together connectors take longer to connect, but are more secure. They’re good for preventing power loss if vibration might loosen the connection or the connector could get yanked out.
Wire Connection—Choose based on your application. Wire leads come ready to connect and don’t require any preparation. Screw-clamp terminals are easy to use; just insert the wire into the terminal and tighten the screw to clamp it in place. Solder connections are the most secure and permanent connection.
IP68-Rated Connectors—Create a sealed connection when the plug and socket, receptacle, or adapter are also IP68 rated. All are dust tight, even when there’s continuous airflow. They also withstand submersion in water for more than 30 minutes.
Receptacles—Mount them in a panel. Receptacles with an off (Normally Open) circuit position turn equipment on when you plug in a device. Receptacles with an on (Normally Closed) circuit position have an internal switch, or shunt, to transfer power from one component to another when you plug in a device. They’re often used with equipment that can run on either battery or wall power, switching off the battery connection when you plug into the wall. You can also use them to turn on a light inside the device when you plug it in.

Circuit Board Barrel-Style DC Connectors
Install these connectors directly onto circuit boards to carry DC power from a power supply to your device. The industry standard barrel-style ends are often found on power supplies for laptops, wireless routers, and other common electronics. Push the contacts through holes in your circuit board and solder them in place.
Push-in connectors are quicker to connect and disconnect than screw-together connectors.
Screw-together connectors are less likely to disconnect from vibration or getting yanked out than push-in connectors. This makes them good for preventing power loss. However, they take longer to connect and disconnect.

AC to DC Adapter Cords




Plug these adapter cords into a standard outlet and they change AC voltage to DC voltage. These cords use switching regulation, so they produce the stated voltage even when your outlet’s power or the power drawn by your device fluctuates. It also means they won’t get too hot. They have an LPS low-voltage output and Class II shock protection, so if something fails inside these cords, they’ll limit the risk of electrical shocks. These cords meet U.S. and Canadian safety standards as well as U.S. DOE (Department of Energy) Level VI standards for energy efficiency.
When choosing an adapter, match the output voltage and polarity of your device. Look for the polarity illustration on your device or the adapter you're replacing. The current you choose should, at a minimum, match your device. You can choose a higher current, but it will not improve performance.
