About Hex Head Screws and Bolts
More
Removable-Screw Anchors for Drywall, Plaster, and Wood Paneling
A drilled hole is required for installation. Screws can be removed repeatedly without affecting the anchor. To install, tap the anchor into the material until flush. Insert a screw and turn it to expand the anchor. For high volume tasks, use the optional installation tool—it doesn't require any twisting. Pull-out strength and shear strength values are 25% of the ultimate values.

Rounded Head Toggle Bolts
A spring-loaded toggle holds against the back of the material. To install, insert the bolt through your fixture and thread the toggle onto it. Next, fold the toggle wings flush against the bolt and push them through a drilled hole until they pop open on the other side. Pull back on the bolt and tighten. In denser materials such as high-strength concrete, use a drill bit that is 1/16" larger than the size listed.
Bolts are zinc-plated steel to resist corrosion in wet environments. The bolt is reusable, but the toggle will fall behind the wall when the bolt is removed. Extra toggles are sold separately.

Low-Profile Rounded Head Toggle Bolts
A shallow head makes these bolts good for low-clearance applications. The spring-loaded toggle holds against the back of the material. To install, insert the bolt through your fixture and thread the toggle onto it. Next, fold the toggle wings flush against the bolt and push them through a drilled hole until they pop open on the other side. Pull back on the bolt and tighten. In denser materials such as high strength concrete, use a drill bit that is 1/16" larger than the size listed.

Nylon Drilling Toggle Bolts
These toggle bolts speed installation by drilling their own pilot hole in 3/8"-5/8" thick drywall. To install, drive the anchor into the wall. Then, position your fixture and insert the bolt into the anchor. The toggle is drawn against the wall as you tighten the bolt. Once set, the anchor will remain secure if the bolt is removed.

Machine Screw-Style Hangers
Also known as spade bolts, you can use these versatile hangers in a threaded hole (as you would a screw), or secure them with a nut (as you would a bolt). Zinc plating provides corrosion resistance in wet environments. Material meets ASTM A307 or F2282 specifications for quality.

Routing Eyebolts with Nuts—Not for Lifting
Also known as nut eyebolts, these are designed for through-hole applications. Use them for routing wire and for other light duty applications.
Zinc-plated steel eyebolts offer good corrosion resistance.
Black-oxide steel eyebolts are more corrosion resistant than zinc-plated steel.
304 stainless steel eyebolts are more corrosion resistant than black-oxide steel.
316 stainless steel are the most corrosion resistant eyebolts.

Stud-End Roller Swage Wire Rope End Fittings—Not for Lifting
Also known as socket-end swage fittings, install these end fittings with a roller swage press for a strong, permanent hold. They have a thicker shank wall than compression-grip end fittings. Made of 18-8 stainless steel, they offer excellent corrosion resistance to chemicals.
Warning: Fittings must match rope diameter and be installed correctly to obtain maximum holding power. Test all assemblies for required strength before use. Do not use with coated rope unless the coating is removed.

Extension Spring Stud Anchors
A black-oxide finish provides these steel anchors with mild corrosion resistance. Attach an extension spring to a stud and then thread the stud into your part for a secure connection.

Corrosion-Resistant Swiveling Extension Spring Stud Anchors
These stainless steel anchor studs offer excellent corrosion resistance. The head swivels 360° so the spring stays straight and properly coiled. Attach an extension spring to a stud and then thread the stud into your part for a secure connection. To make tightening easier, anchors have a hex socket on the bottom and wrench flats at the top of the threads.
