Our strongest drive anchors are best for securing objects such as safety railings and warning signs. All have a rounded head that offers a finished look, won’t snag on objects, and is hard to grip, preventing unwanted removal. Often used for permanent installations, you can't remove your object without yanking the anchor out. These one-piece anchors compress when hammered in and expand inside a drilled hole, creating a powerful grip. No tightening is needed, making them quicker to install than wedge anchors.
To install, hammer the anchor through your object into a drilled hole until the head is flush with the surface. The installation force stresses your base material, so avoid using the anchor near edges, corners, or in cracked surfaces.
Zinc-Plated Steel—The most common choice for areas with occasional exposure to moisture.
Super-Corrosion-Resistant 316 Stainless Steel—Superior to 18-8 stainless steel, these anchors won't degrade when exposed to harsh weather, salt water, and most chemicals.

Light Duty Drive Rivet Anchors for Concrete

Image of Product. Front orientation. Contains Annotated. Anchors. Light Duty Drive Rivet Anchors for Concrete.
More secure than masonry nails but not as strong as other anchors for concrete, these are often used to mount lightweight signs and control panels. Also known as tap-in rivets, they’re barbed to resist pullout after being hammered into a hole. All have a rounded head for a finished look that won’t snag on objects.
To install, hammer the anchor through your component into a drilled hole that’s slightly longer than the anchor until the head is flush with the surface. The anchor will compress and then expand inside the hole. To remove, pry out the anchor.
Nylon—Strong, durable, and economical. Best for dry environments, these anchors will swell and weaken when exposed to moisture.

Light Duty Anchors for Block and Brick

These anchors grip the sides of your hole to resist twisting and pullout in block and brick. They’re an economical choice for mounting lightweight switches, security cameras, and clocks. All are the easiest anchors to install in block and brick but have the lowest strength.
To install, drill a hole slightly deeper than the anchor is long. Next, insert the anchor until it's flush with the surface. Then, thread a tapping screw through your component into the anchor and tighten. Remove your component by unfastening the screw, but the anchor itself cannot be removed.

    Lobed

Flanged Alligator—Best for installing in walls with hollow cavities, the flange keeps these anchors from being pushed through your hole. The anchors split in half inside the cavity for a secure hold. Projections on the anchors add gripping force to prevent twisting. Removing and reinstalling your screw will not lessen the strength.
Lobed—As the anchors expand, lobes running down the entire length of the anchor firmly grip your hole to create the highest pull-out strengths of all our light duty anchors. However, removing and reinstalling the screw will weaken the strength.

Drive Rivet Anchors for Block and Brick

Fasten signs, security cameras, and motion detectors. All of these anchors have a rivet head that creates a secure connection with a finished look. Easier to install than other types of anchors for block and brick, the anchors expand as you hammer in the pin or screw. Since the gripping force is distributed along the entire length of the anchor, it won’t crack soft materials. These anchors can be used in concrete near edges, corners, or other weak points, but they are not as strong as other drive rivet anchors for concrete.
To install, insert the anchor through your component and into a drilled hole. Then, hammer the pin or screw until it's flush with the anchor's head, which expands the anchor body.

    Anchors for Drywall

The traditional, economical choice for mounting lightweight switches, security cameras, and clocks into drywall. All of these anchors expand against your hole’s walls to reinforce your mounting hole and resist pullout.
To install, drill a hole slightly deeper than the anchor is long. Next, insert the anchor until it's flush with the surface. Then, thread a tapping screw through your component into the anchor and tighten. Remove your component by unfastening the screw, but the anchor itself cannot be removed.

    Hammer-In Anchors for Drywall

Tap in like a nail—no need to drill a hole or clean up after installation like other anchors. These anchors have a leg that flips open to grab behind your wall like a talon, making them as strong as toggle bolt anchors. Unlike drilling and toggle bolt anchors, these leave a small slit behind for easier wall repairs.
To install, tap the anchor into your drywall until it’s flush with the surface. Then, thread a tapping screw through your component into the anchor and tighten. You can remove your component by unfastening the screw. However, removing the screw will weaken the strength. To remove the anchor, unfasten the screw to release the leg’s grip. Then, partially reinsert the screw to use it as a handle and gently wiggle the anchor out.

    Drilling Anchors for Drywall

Skip having to drill a hole. These anchors save you time and effort by drilling their own holes. Their threads offer a stronger hold than our standard plug anchors to mount light fixtures, bulletin boards, and window blinds. They’re also easier to remove but leave a large hole behind.
To install, screw the anchor into your drywall until it's flush with the surface. Then, thread a tapping screw through your component into the anchor and tighten. You can remove your component by unfastening the screw. However, frequently removing the screw will weaken the strength. To remove the anchor, easily back it out with a screwdriver.

    Installation

    Tools

Good for installing signs and other objects you’d like to swap out, these anchors have a bolt that you can repeatedly remove without affecting the anchor. The sleeve expands behind the wall, creating a mushroom-shape grip for a secure hold. Teeth on the flange bite the drywall surface, so the anchor won’t twist when you remove and reinstall the screw. While the bolt can be removed, the anchor itself cannot.
To install, tap the anchor into a drilled hole until it's flush with your drywall. Then, thread a machine screw through your object and tighten to expand the anchor. For repetitive installations, use the optional installation tool. It inserts the screw and expands the anchor with a single squeeze of the handle, speeding up the setup time.

Our highest-strength drywall anchors are strong enough to secure pegboards, grab bars, and sinks. The toggle creates an extremely tight hold and won’t fall behind the wall when your screw is removed, so you can switch out components without losing strength. However, the anchor itself cannot be removed. Unlike traditional toggle bolt anchors, the toggle is pulled tight to the wall with the cap, which also covers the hole.
To install, push the toggle through a drilled hole and pull the anchor back toward you until the toggle rests flush against the wall. Then, slide the cap along the straps up to the wall. Push straps side-to-side, snapping them off so they're level with the cap. Next, position your component over the hole, insert a machine screw, and tighten. The minimum screw length is the wall and component thicknesses plus 1/2".

    Toggle Bolt Anchors for Drywall

Image of Product. Front orientation. Contains Annotated. Anchors. Toggle Bolt Anchors for Drywall.
These classic toggle anchors are best for securing handrails, cabinets, and shelving in drywall. All have a spring-loaded toggle that firmly grips behind your wall. Since the gripping force is spread over the length of the toggle, they create a stronger hold than plug anchors. However, they require a larger hole to push the toggle through, which may need patching if not covered by your component.
To install, insert the bolt through your component and thread on the toggle. Then, fold the toggle wings flush against the bolt and push them through a drilled hole until they pop open on the other side. Next, pull back on the bolt and tighten it for a secure hold. The bolt is reusable, but the toggle will fall behind the wall when the bolt is removed.

    Drilling Toggle Anchors for Drywall

Image of Product. Front orientation. Contains Annotated. Anchors. Drilling Toggle Anchors for Drywall.
A cross between a toggle bolt and drilling anchor, these anchors create a secure hold without having to drill a hole first. They’re twice as strong as drilling anchors but only about one-third as strong as toggle bolt anchors. All have a bolt that you can repeatedly remove without affecting the anchor, so they’re good for installing signs and other components you’d like to swap out. However, the anchor itself cannot be removed.
To install, screw the anchor into your drywall until it's flush with the surface. Then, insert the bolt through your component and tighten to flip the toggle open and draw it firmly in place behind your wall.

    Installation

    Tools

Keep a variety of reusable anchor sizes and lengths on hand for installing signs and other objects you’d like to swap out. All of these anchors have a bolt that you can repeatedly remove without affecting the anchor. The sleeve expands behind the wall, creating a mushroom-shape grip for a secure hold. Teeth on the flange bite the drywall surface, so the anchor won’t twist when you remove and reinstall the screw. While the bolt can be removed, the anchor itself cannot.
To install, tap or drill the anchor into a drilled hole so it's flush with your drywall. Then, thread a machine screw through your object and tighten to expand the anchor. For repetitive installations, use the optional installation tool. It inserts the screw and expands the anchor with a single squeeze of the handle, speeding up the setup time.
