CLR Multipurpose Cleaner/Scale Removers
Clean rust and lime deposits such as calcium and scale from HVAC systems, coolers, tools, and vehicles. These removers are nonabrasive and noncorrosive, so they won’t damage surfaces. Derived from plants, they don’t contain toxic chemicals such as bleach, ammonia, alcohol, or phosphates. These removers break down quickly, so they won’t pollute air and water. Stainless Steel Cleaner/Protectants
Restore and maintain the surface layer on stainless steel that protects it from corrosion. Also known as passivating fluids, these protectants are made from citric acid, which removes iron from the surface of stainless steel that has been damaged from machining, heat, or chemicals. This exposes the chromium in stainless steel and reacts with air to form a protective layer. These protectants also remove dirt, discoloration, and minor corrosion. Unlike nitric acid and other passivating fluids, citric acid does not create dangerous fumes and is safe for use throughout your plant. These protectants come ready-to-use, so you don’t have to mix them, but you can dilute them with water for 400-series stainless steel and other sensitive parts.
These protectants meet SAE and ASTM international guidelines for passivating stainless steel. They also meet ASTM international guidelines for descaling and cleaning titanium and titanium alloys.
Liquid protectants are thinner than gel protectants, making them ideal for submerging parts. When spot cleaning, however, they will drip down vertical surfaces. Gel protectants are thicker than liquid protectants, so they cling to surfaces. Use them on vertical surfaces, weld joints, and other parts that can’t be submerged.
Protectants for removing dirt and rust contain an additive that eliminates existing rust. Protectants for removing dirt only are less acidic and won’t discolor 400-series stainless steel. Do not use them on parts that have rust.

Harsh Chemical Spill-Control Kits
Be prepared for a variety of chemical spills at your worksite.
Kits for solvents include a granular sorbent for soaking up fuel, thinners, and other spills, as well as a liquid microbial cleaner for treating the solvent. The liquid cleaner reduces harmful and flammable vapors and reduces flammability by raising the flash point of the absorbed spill to 140° F.
Kits for hydrofluoric acid include a granular sorbent that neutralizes hydrofluoric acid for safe removal.
Kits for formaldehyde include a granular sorbent that neutralizes and absorbs formaldehyde and suppresses its harmful vapors. While cleaning up formaldehyde often involves using separate sorbents and neutralizers, the sorbents in these kits do both.
Kits for ammonia include a liquid neutralizer. Pour or spray the neutralizer onto the spill, even when it's on a vertical surface. The liquid neutralizer binds with the ammonia to form safe organic salts.
Kits for acids, bases, hydrofluoric acid, formaldehyde, and solvents include a neutralizing granular sorbent for acid spills, such as battery or hydrochloric acid, and one for base spills, such as sodium hydroxide. They also include separate granular sorbents for neutralizing hydrofluoric acid and formaldehyde. Kits have a granular sorbent for neutralizing solvents that captures harmful vapors and elevates the flash point of the spill to 140° F to reduce flammability.

Acid and Base Spill-Control Kits

Spill-Control Sorbent Kits
These kits have everything you need when a spill occurs, even bags for disposal.
Kits for chemicals, oil, and water are also known as universal kits. Use them to pick up acid, base, oil, fuel, and water spills. They are not for use with hydrofluoric acid.
Kits for harsh chemicals absorb most chemical spills, even fuming acids and strong oxidizers. They are not for use with hydrofluoric acid.
Drum kits act as spill control stations, while mobile drum and tote kits roll wherever a spill occurs. The 95-gal. drums can double as salvage drums for leaking 55-gal. drums; 30-gal. drums can serve as salvage drums for 15- and 16-gal. drums.

Acid and Base Neutralizing Granular Sorbents
Neutralize and absorb corrosive liquids in a single step. These mineral-based sorbents spread over spills to quickly lock in and neutralize acids or bases.
Use sorbents for acids on spills such as battery or hydrochloric acid. Not for use with hydrofluoric acid.
Use sorbents for bases on spills such as sodium hydroxide or ammonia solutions.
The jar includes a shaker top to sprinkle granules over small spills.
The sorbent made of perlite will change color when acid or base neutralization is complete.
Harsh Chemical Neutralizing Granular Sorbents
Sop up hydrofluoric acid, solvent, and formaldehyde spills with these granular sorbents. They safely absorb and neutralize chemical spills in a single step.
Solvent sorbents lock in cleaners, thinners, and fuels such as toluene, mineral spirits, acetone, and methyl ethyl ketone (MEK). Unlike other sorbents, they capture harmful vapors and elevate the flash point of the spill to 140° F to reduce flammability.
Formaldehyde sorbents soak up formaldehyde and other aldehyde solutions. They also suppress their hazardous vapors.

Nitric acid is used for industrial and laboratory applications such as treating wood, pickling and passivating stainless steel, cleaning electronic components, and etching metals. ACS-reagent-grade nitric acid meets quality standards set by the American Chemical Society. ACS-reagent-grade chemicals are also known as Reagent material.
