Configure a connector for your application—combine housings with pins and sleeves for different wire sizes.
Housings have a locking tab to form a secure connection when mated.
Insertion tools (sold separately) are helpful for assembling small wires.
Extraction tools (sold separately) release the locking mechanism on pins and sleeves to remove them from housings.
Crimpers (sold separately) are required for wire installation. They ratchet to ensure the correct pressure is applied to every crimp.

Molex Compact Connector Sets
Connectors come assembled with wire leads already installed so they can be quickly added to existing wiring systems. Each set includes one plug and one socket. A locking tab keeps them securely in place when mated. Do not mate tin-plated connectors with gold-plated connectors because the contact points will corrode.
Tin-plated connectors are best for unexposed, mated connections, since they may corrode in harsh environments. Use them in applications where they won’t have to be mated and unmated multiple times. They’re more prone to noise on a signal line than gold-plated connectors, so they should be used in areas that create low noise in contacts.
Gold-plated connectors are more corrosion resistant than tin-plated connectors, making them best for exposed, unmated connections in harsh environments. They’re also more wear resistant, so they can be mated and unmated for more cycles. Good for low-voltage analog circuits, they stand up to noise on signal lines better than tin-plated connectors.

Build-Your-Own Molex Circuit Board Connectors with Locking Tab
Connect wires to circuit boards with Molex Mini-Fit push-in connectors. These connectors are easier to detach than Amphenol PV connectors, so they’re often used for prototyping. A complete connector consists of a sleeve housing, sleeves, and a circuit board plug (all sold separately). To assemble these connectors, crimp sleeves onto your wires, then place them inside a sleeve housing. Once you’ve wired the sleeve housing, slide it onto a circuit board plug.
Plugs have an alignment key that ensures the plug and housing are mated correctly, which is helpful when you can’t get a good look during installation. A locking tab holds the housing and plug together once they’re mated. To install the plug on your circuit board, push the contacts through the board’s holes and solder them in place. All plugs have gold-plated brass pins, which are more corrosion resistant than tin- or nickel-plated pins, so the electrical connection lasts longer. Plugs with snap-in pegs relieve stress on the terminal when plugging and unplugging wires.
Extraction tools release the locking mechanism on sleeves to remove them from housings.
Crimpers are required to install wires.

Build-Your-Own Molex Circuit Board Connectors
Connect wires to your circuit board with these Molex KK push-in connectors. A good choice for prototyping, they require less force to disassemble than Amphenol PV connectors. However, this means that they are less secure in more demanding applications.
For a complete connection, choose a plug and housing with the number of poles that matches the number of wires you need to connect. You’ll also need one sleeve for each wire.
Plugs have a friction clip to securely hold the housing when mated. They also have an alignment key that ensures the plug and housing are mated correctly, which is helpful when you can’t get a good look during installation. To install the plug on your circuit board, push the contacts through the board’s holes and solder them in place. The pins are gold-plated brass, so they resist corrosion better than tin- or nickel-plated pins. This means they’ll have a good, long-lasting electrical connection.
Insertion tools (sold separately) are helpful for assembling small wires.
Extraction tools (sold separately) release the locking mechanism on sleeves to remove them from housings.

Detachable-Cord AC to DC Adapters
Couple these adapters with a cord that matches your outlet and length requirements to run DC-powered electronics. Instead of plugging directly into an outlet, the body of these adapters sits on the floor or other surface, so it remains out of the way and won’t block multiple outlets. These adapters use switching regulation—they produce the stated voltage even when your outlet’s power or the power drawn by your device fluctuates. Most have an LPS low-voltage output, so if something fails inside these adapters, they’ll limit the risk of electrical shocks. They meet U.S., Canadian, and European safety standards. Many also meet U.S. and European standards for energy efficiency.
When choosing an adapter, match the output voltage and polarity of your device. Look for the polarity illustration on your device or the adapter you're replacing. The current you choose should, at a minimum, match your device. You can choose a higher current, but it will not improve performance.
Adapters with an IEC C14 input require power cords with a C13 socket. They have Class I shock protection and prevent electrical shocks with a combination of insulation and a protective ground.

Medical-Grade AC to DC Adapters
To run DC-powered lab and medical equipment from your outlet, add a power cord with the plug style and length you need. These adapters meet strict IEC, UL, or ANSI/AAMI standards for use with medical devices. They also have a Means of Protection rating of 2xMOPP, which is the highest level of shock protection available for medical-grade power supplies, so in addition to using them with lab and medical equipment, you can use them with devices that come into contact with patients.
Unlike adapters with bodies that plug directly into an outlet, the body of these adapters rests on a desk or the floor, so it won’t block multiple outlets. Those with an IEC C14 input connection require power cords with a C13 socket.
When selecting an adapter, make sure the DC voltage and amps for the pin output connection can handle the requirements of your device. Choosing a DC voltage and amps that are much higher than you need will not improve performance.
