How to Install Helical Inserts
- Step 1: Drill the hole.
- Step 2: Tap the hole.
- Step 3: Thread the insert into the hole using the installation tool.
- Step 4: If your insert has a prong, break off the prong using a punch or break-off tool.
Drill a hole using the suggested drill bit size. Thread the hole with a tap then screw the insert onto the installation tool. The prong must be properly engaged in the tool’s driving contour. Install the insert a quarter to half turn below the surface of the hole. Remove the prong to allow full passage of your screw into the insert.
